When I'm upset, get bored, or sad, I prefer to window shopping. hehe.. Just walking along the mall, from one floor to another, form one shop to the other shop, and go home after feeling tired.

window shopping is nice too. for me I think of window shopping as an exercise because we all know that walking is always the best form of exercise. Can you tell me how much time can you spend window shopping?

It depends with whom I go window shopping. With my friends, it may take 2 hours or more. But with my mom, it will just take about an hour or so. After she got tired, she will drag me home immediately.. hahaha

shopping is fun and enjoyable but you shouldn't use it when you are depressed because chances are, you will just overspend. find some hobbies that don't cost any money.

In some ways you're right but it all depends on the person who is spending. In my case I wouldn't spend to much if I know that there'll be nothing left for me.

I'm not crazy about shopping in that I hate spending all day shopping. I don't mind for a couple of hours especially when I get something I like. It can lift my spirits but then the guilt of spending the money hits me and I just get depressed again. This is why I don't go out much. If I go out I will spend money so I just stay home. Staying home all the time can be depressing. It seems to be a no-win situation for me. Going for a good brisk walk helps, watching funny shows help, but buying stuff for myself is such a temporary fix because the money spent gives me an up and then a down. I try not to buy something I don't need and won't use.

that's very practical patgalca. Maybe next time you go shopping just spend the amount that is not too much so that you won't feel guilty after wards.

I like shopping, and I find that it helps me to relax after a hard week at work. I will always go shopping at the weekend, as I find that buying things makes me feel good as it shows that I am actually getting something for the money that I have earned. If there is ever anyone's birthday coming up, then I much prefer to be able to buy things for other people rather than myself, as I get a greater sense of satisfaction from being able to do this. So I have a list of when everyone's birthdays are so that I know what I have to buy at any one time.

so i see that you like giving gifts GemmaR. It's a really nice feeling when you know that you are the one giving to other persons and making them happy through simple things.

I used to shop a lot, but right now I only shop for craft materials like yarns, needles, etc. Yes shopping is fun, when we see new items in mall its reallt refreshing but it is a money consuming if we dont know how to control our budget. well i have been in that situation before and i spent too much money on dress but now Im happy that I can make most of the stuff that I need instead of buying it. I dont wear makeup and I use fresh fruits as my skin care, I crochet my bag, scarf and make my own accesories. I cannot make my own shoes so i still shop to buy new shoes. Nowadays when I feel upset and bad mood, I spend my time on mylot or just take my needles and yarns and start making a project. I dont miss buying things, I like windows shopping to see latest models and to find inspiration. If we dont know how to control our budget, you might regret later when you see your bank account almost empty hahahaha just like mine.

I also like hobbies like that but there comes a time that I become bored after one project and I feel that my eyes is getting tired for that kind of thing. So you like DIY stuff I'm looking forward to see the stuff you have made.

Wehhhhhh...LOL Im almost like you. Shopping is the best remover of stress. But the guilt after shopping is there. I love it that's how I release my stress.

Just remember that before you go shopping just spend the amount that is reasonable so that you won't feel guilty afterwards.
