from being an action star...I can't believe it, Jackie Chan will turn 58 this year- and his latest film, CHinese Zodiac will be his last action movie since he said his whole body hurts.. I just remember all those stunts he did himself, some of them ended badly, so i think that reason is very valid.. I will definitely miss his moves , i grew up watching his movies- i love all of them. It's definitely sad that he won't do action movies anymore, since it's what he does best....i wish him all the best.. maybe we can still see him in drama films.

I am sad to hear that Jackie chan is retiring from film, this is the first that I have heard this news. He is my favorite martial arts actor. I loved him in the Rush Hour movies especially. I will definitely have to watch the Chinese Zodiac since it will be the last offering from Jackie chan.

I read the news on the newspaper but if I am not mistaken he said that he just retiring from acting in action movies which require him to do all the actions and stunts. He will still acting but will not going to do any stunts or involved in any movies which have fight scenes.(^^)

It would be a little bit boring to see him without any fighting scenes as he is always with it but like he said he does not want to give the bad influence with all the fighting scenes in almost every movies he's in. Hehe..he just realized it now~(^^)
Anyway even if his movies always contain the gang fights but the movies are not just it-the humor and funny parts are what we the viewers love to see~(^^)

Wow, hearing it first time here. So does it mean he won't do action movies with heavy stunts or is he retiring from acting completely? Because he could still do such roles like he did in new Karate Kid- he played Kid's karate teacher. He showed some awesome moves but I don't remember him doing anything crazy dangerous.
I've actually never met a person who doesn't like Jackie Chan. I enjoyed all his movies. I recommend everybody to check his documentary "Ny Stunts" where he shows and explains stunts and choreography from his most popular movies.

Oh no!!! It can't be!! Jackie Chan is also my favorite movie star, but I guess the reality is that he is already old to do the dangerous stunt. Well, we are surely going to miss him.

I also didn't see him on heavy drama. I wonder what he looks like if he acts on a drama scene. I mean pure drama scene

Yes, he is quite old and he has been ding his own stunts for more than 30 years.. H has had countless number of accidents too- i am glad he has survived everything. he should try comedy, since he really didn't quite all acting, just intense action films.

I have seen the trailer for Zodiac earlier today, and I hope its a success as it may possibly be his last film. But knowing Jackie Chan he will never go away, perhaps he may remain in his singing and directing career. He has been an icon in my childhood, and is still very entertaining.
Perhaps having a zodiac themed movie, his zodiac sign told him to relax after the age of 58. Anyways, he was part of the world's culture and will remain in history as another great Chinese Actor and foreign actor etc.

Oh interesting news, I just read from his Facebook, that he is not retiring, he meant to say that he will minimize all his life risking stunts and take better care of his body so he can work further in the future. He said that he will continue to do international action movies, but with less risk on his part in his stunts.
Cheers!

Is the news real? It's hard to believe this. It's a pity to hear that Jackie Chan is now retiring.Actually,I grew up with his movies.People of the same age around me grew up with his movies, woo. He did a good job in acting, and he provided a lot of good movies for us.
But I think his retirement is understandable, for he is not young any more.As an action movie star,it's pretty hard for him to continue doing things like before. What's more,I think it's not a bad choice, for I don't want to see that his career ends with some low-quality movies, right? We all like his movies,so we will miss them, too.
Anyway,it's not easy for an action movie star to retire at an age of nearly 60.He was doing so well in movies all his career. It's also a good idea for him to try some other kinds of arts.
If you really like action movies, maybe you can see some other stars' movies.LOL...Hope you enjoy watching them, friend!

Yeah, it was a news that was posted a few days ago.. He's only retiring from action films since his body can't take it anymore..He said he wants to show that he can also act.. I'd just watch Statham's movies since his inspiration is Jackie Chan t and he tries to do all stunts himself..

It's a good news that we might still see him on screen, isn't it?Is the Statham you said Jason Statham?I also saw some movies of him.It seems that Jackie Chan had some corporation with him in one movie, right?I don't know much about him.But I think I've seen his action.Doing all stunts himself is also a reason why I like him.
Hope you enjoy watching movies.I am eager to see Jackie Chan in other kinds of movies,too.LOL...

It is quite interesting watching Jackie Chan's movie. Now, he one of the top stunt
master that brings a good movies so far after Jet LI. I like his movies so much.
It is better to make another last movie of Jackie Chan, because i think too earlier
for him to get retire and make bring a bid disappointing for his fans around the
world.

At 58, his body has endured a lot of sufferings already from making all those blockbuster action films. We will surely miss him from making those movies. He should try heavy drama because maybe he is good at it.

He isn't retiring as such, he's just retiring from the action movie genre. When you take into account his experience, filmography, age and reputation - not to mention the injuries he's had over the years, I think this is a good time to call the action genre a day. Martial arts films are different now from what they used to be, and he isn't young enough to contend with these anymore. He's blessed to be in such a privileged position within the film industry and I really admire his tenacity and desire to explore other genres and film and concentrating on his acting, rather than his acting being based largely upon his fighting. I will miss the comedy element of his action sequences, that goes without saying. He has said that he will still play his roles in Rush Hour 4 and Karate Kid 2 - so it's not all bad news! We still have some good Jackie Chan action to look forward to - and much to anticipate in his quest to become a true actor.

It's a long time Jackie Chan is been in movies, as 58 he cannot be able to do stunts as he used to when he started acting.
Jackie Chan does action on his own, he doesn't let anybody do it for him, I will be watching Jackie Chan's last film, there will be nobody else to replace Jackie Chan ...

This is a surprising news for me. So far I haven't heard this online or offline yet. I also haven't watched his latest movie called Chinese Zodiac yet. It is strange that I haven't heard of his news for some time lately already.
I love China

Oh no! Not Jackie Chan! I love Jackie Chan action movies. He is the greatest stunt man ever. I hope he decides to do other types of films. Jackie Chan is a nice guy, I would miss him terribly if he retires completely but I would totally understand.

I didn`t know Jackie was retiring from movies. He is one of the most entertaining actors i have seen. All his films are action packed and there is a lot of comedy in the stunts which he does himself. In all his movies he gets beaten badly and only in the end he vanquishes the villains. After all there is a limit to what the body can take and no wonder Jackie`s body must be tired and hurting.will surely miss him.All the best to him.

I have always enjoyed his comedic and action acting. Chinese Zodiac I will have to see. Putting it on my Netflix queue for sure. Maybe he will do afew guest starring roles in a movie or two. I didn't realize he was quite as old as he is and I can certainly understand his whole body hurts him.

Jackie Chan, retiring is quite a sad news for me. But it is a good news if we see the other side of this. I think he deserves to rest his body and enjoy "pain-free and away from danger" life. I cannot imagine action movies without him around. But that will be good thing for he is giving the chance to let others shine and to give way to those aspiring ones. I really enjoyed his movies. I believe, he is such a genius in his own field and he do his craft so well.If that will be the case - that he will be retiring soon, I wish I could see more on him doing the comedy fims.
