Oh my goodness, the Chief Justice is at the Senate defending himself. I am sure that he will be all over the news at different news program tonight. I am getting sick with the trial. The Senators are wasting their rime on it instead of passing useful bills for the Filipino people. They are getting personal and the Chief Justice himself proves that on his speech. He is trying to defend himself about his dollar accounts. He said he worked hard. don't buy expensive things and such to justify his wealth. I wonder when will this be leading, impeachment or not. I do hope it will end soon and justice will be served.

I already expected a discussion like this in myLot.
Anyway, I was eating lunch and about to go when I see a noontime news show spent most of their airtime for this piece of junk news. When I got fed of it I changed the channel and watched a more happy show instead.

It sure is tiresome and boring, but we can't do otherwise but be informed with the fundamentals of the case because it's of national import. It's a good lesson for us to learn the on-goings of government. It's history in the making given the 3 top branches of government at odds with one another, the president and CJ aren't in good terms and the senators-judges probing in a trial if CJ has done more good for the country than enriching himself in power. Is CJ a torn in the president's throat?

Politics is too tiring to listen with, especially shananigans and all sorts of venalities committed by corrupt officials. I suggest to God that all those who won seats during elections, may have their "free will" change to instinct so that what comes to their minds are nothing but plans for the good of the majority. By that time, politics would be a very interesting topic.

Everybody has the RIGHT to defend his integrity and honor, I don't believe one of those who are questioning the CHIEF JUSTICE are actually innocent, it the eyes of the masses all politicians credibility already tainted and none of them is being clean and real. However, it is not about the person involve but the position is actually making it that long and very publicized and dramatized.
We cannot deny the fact that the POSITION is very important upon exercising the JUSTICE in this Country, if the ALLEGATION is true or just a black propaganda, the EFFECT of this trial would cause a tremendous impact in the future judicial participation of the people involved in the SUPREME COURT, that is why we have to endure this TRIAL. Perhaps, this is just the benigning of a much bigger propaganda by the Current Administration. Who knows?

Yeah it is overdue already, they should finished it to give time to other matters.
For me, we cannot blame the senators because it is part of their job, they have to finish the proceeding whether they like it or not because that is the law, the law endowed them such obligation.
It will serve as reminder to all officials that they have accountability with the people, so they should uphold honesty and sincerity at all times.

Hello! Hope the real justice will serve. You know government employee just like Corona and many others where mostly used by so many politician for their personal interest. It's so sad to the only employee receiving low salary used by politician where in fact the truth is they are using government employee for their benefits. If you refused to do so... i don't know what will happened to the government employee. I understand Chief Justice... I respect him... and respect the result of the trial. Not respecting our rule of laws here in our country... we are more that an idiot person seems know nothing about laws. Respecting our court... it will our country move on...

another philippine history the chief justice still fighting in the senate during the impeachment trial, corona said whatever he and his family own are result of their hard work not corruption, the big question in my mind why the politicians with higher position always involved the corruption?

Hello Shylade, Well I am glad that am not the only one getting tired of this too much publicized Drama that the media wanted to portray in this trial. would you believe he tried to escape after making that kind of a very long priviledge speech?! I don't think he's telling the truth at all and therefore, should resign from the position of a chief justice. he was very disappointing today for a lawmaker. if he doesn't testify tomorrow, then he's done. sad to say, it proves how people try to escape the LAW, even to point of pretending to be sick

Yeah his privileged speech seems like only a defense for his dfollar account. imagine he even said that he don't use air-condition unit at home and has no house help. He seems so desperate and then walked out. It was so dramatic. I hope justice be served.
Thanks for the response.

You are right, This will be headlines or not just headlines but the content of the entire news program tonight. Most of the radio programs change the schedule of their regular programs, which is more sensible, just to give way to the impeachment trial.
In my opinion, majority of the citizen of the Philippines are not interested in hearing the said issues. They would rather to spend their time in other things rather than listening to the impeachment trial.

I'm trying to avoid the trial and failing at it. I am sure that the people i my house are gonna try to watch it aside form their normal programming. The thing is I am not convinced that they are gonna try to listen to arguments instead of old speculations. I have work but I think my damned curiosity is gonna make me distracted in this issue. God knows that this thing needs to end soon.

I think the impeachment trial today had the most number of viewers. You may not believe this but I have watched on TV all the proceedings from Day 1 and Corona was a victim of political issues. Now it is his word against the prosecution and I doubt if anyone will take the bait of making a waiver to disclose all the local and dollar bank deposits. This impeachment trial has divided the country and it is about time that it ends and allow the senators to go back to their normal work and do something about the pending bills. We have the same wish for justice to be served but do you think our wishes will come true?
