i find it quite alarming, since our country is so not ready for this, the houses here are just made of wood and some light materials.. It has been happening in different parts of the country. And the size of the ice is like 10 centavos, or two thumbnails.. i hope this stops since they destroy the houses here.

I have experienced the rains with ice when I was still in Baguio and we did enjoy it. All of us went scampering out of the house to feel the ice that was falling from the skies. It would immediately melt and hardly touches the ground. The negative impact is on the roof. I remember the noise of the ice against our roofs and I was indeed wondering if the roof will be able to withstand the onslaught. Do you think this are the effects of global warming and climate changes?

It also destroys the crops. When the ice is so big, it bores holes on the leaves. In the end, the farmers suffer.

Maybe it is is the effect of global warming, since too much heat meets cold..good thing the ice melts quickly.. It would be nice if it would not happen again though since many people, especially those in squatters area, their houses can't withstand it.

I'm with you on this, lady1993. Philippines is of course, not ready for snow. It would be really tragic if it suddenly rains ice all over the country. There are a lot of houses made of thin wood that could not even stand a regular storm. Im sure a lot will die or be injured if that happens.
Even countries who are used to snow still have casualties when there's a big bad snow storm.

Goodness? Is it true? Is it really raining ice in our country? Really not ready for this one, especially the rural households and the people. We're used to the tropical weather.
Here in our area, we are experiencing heavy rains and strong winds. But no ice, yet!

It happened in just a small part of Davao and Cebu.
I don't think it was the ice that destroyed the houses, but the hurricane. Apparently, there was also hurricane with the ice shower. Some roofs were blown away.
These barangays are now under state of calamity.
