Hello,
I'm pretty sure my daughter (8 years old) spilled something in my laptop. All the bottom keys are sticky and when I took a q-tip and wiped them it looks like something pink was spilled. Is there a way to take it apart myself and clean it, or am I better off taking it to a computer place and having done. And if I take it a computer place, which one do you recommend and how much do you think it will cost? I guess I will have make rule about no food or drink next to the computer. What a pain in the butt. Thanks for any info.

Thing is that she spilled something on a laptop rather than on the keyboard of a desktop. You could remove the keys carefully and clean it but laptop keys are rather tricky to get back in (at least for me they are). The worry is not just the keyboard... rather if something got down into the components underneath the keyboard because you don't know how much of whatever it is she spilled. It might be working now but you don't know if the sticky mess will cause a problem later.
So I do suggest you take it in to a professional to clean it for you properly. It is hard to suggest a place for you since we don't know where it is you live. This is the web so it probably is best that everyone doesnt know your home address lol.

It's possible to clean it yourself, but I think you'd better take it to a computer place, for I am not sure how much you know about computer.I don't know much about the information around your place. You can ask your neighbors and find a good place to repair it.
The keyboard of laptop is a plug-in part,so you can take it off easily with instruction. The way to take it off depends on the type of your computer. But it still can be much easier if you take it to a professional person. It won't be expensive, maybe several dollars will do.
What's more, food and drink should definitely be forbidden when using computer. Some beverages can even erode your laptop if they go into the keyboard. It's a good idea to make a rule about no food or drink next to the computer.I totally agree with you on this.Hope this can help you, friend!
