Going weeks without brushing your teeth?

I brush my teeth usually twice a day (in the morning and at night). Now I could go without if I had to one of them. But honestly I have to brush my teeth and last night I was petsitting and forgot my toothbrush at home. This morning my teeth were so gross I came home and brush them right away. My friend had called and right as I was brushing so I explain to her how gross they feel and never again will that happen. I was going to get a travel size one to bring so if I do forget mine. She was saying she hasnt brush hers in months. I couldnt believe this and its very common I asked a few people out of curiosity and all hadent brushed their teeth in a few days, weeks or even months.

I couldnt imagine going a week without brushing my teeth let alone a year. So it made his teeth stronger, or was it the build up of crap on his teeth that helped him?.

Brushing a teeth is so important. If we do not brush our teeth, our teeth would have a tootache and that is very painful. Your friend is unbelievable.

I couldnt go more than a day or two brushing at all if I had too. But a few weeks or even months I dont think I could do. But your right if you let the plaque build up it damages your teeth.

I agree I like the smooth feeling and clean feeling on my teeth. I guess you need that routine and she doesnt have it. But I would think the build up would get so incredible on her teeth.

I have to admit, I don't brush every day. Sometimes it's because I forget, or I don't feel like it, or I don't want to have the minty-toothpaste flavor in my mouth. Even so, I couldn't go weeks without brushing my teeth. I try to make it a habit to brush my teeth before leaving the house, or if someone is coming over. I could imagine someone not brushing for a couple of days, but weeks or months? That seems unsanitary, for bad breath & getting dental problems like cavities, gingivitis & more. I suppose they could use mouthwash, though. I know I use it when I don't feel like brushing sometimes.

Let's just say, that is downright disgusting. Even worse than that, though, your teeth are basically slowly dying, so you better brush them constantly. Just beware of your dentist, they'll definitely scream at you and give you a big, long, lecture. Just know in the long run, that downright absolutely gross, that could cause your teeth to fall out and you'll need dentures. So if you want to have dentures, don't brush your teeth, but if you don't want dentures, brush your teeth 2-3 times a day like an average human being.

I couldnt even go 24 hours without brushing my bteeth. But I was shocked at the friend who told me a few weeks even months. Some people do juswt naturally have bad teeth but its your own fault if you dont take care of them.

I do brush my teeth twice everyday.I cannot think, how people stay without brushing their teeth. Its pretty unhygenic and the gums would also start getting affected. So everyone should brush their teeth everyday. U may even suffer from bad breath which would be very embarrasing.

I need to brush at least once or twice daily. I also will chew gum. I carry floss picks to clean between and under as well. I do not do it as religiously as I should, but I seldom go long. I do know lots of people who do not brush. Chewing a juicy apple will help clean your teeth as well, but not as good as brushing.

Whoah! That's just gross. I couldn't imagine not brushing for months!! I mean, even a day without brushing would send me shivers. There was even one time when I forgot to bring my toothbrush to work, after lunch I had to go to the nearest convenience store in order to buy one. Now I have toothbrushes everywhere (at home and at work). Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

There is a big variant in the way people manage the care of their teeth. It is also something that most of us can do lots better at. I brush usually twice a day. My son carries a tooth brush in his lunch box. I think it is very interesting how people differ so much when it comes to brushing teeth.

I'm like you but I used to just brush them once a day. However, I found that my saliva wasn't cleaning my teeth overnight like it used to (whilst asleep, this being the main reason why some people don't bother at night-time I reckon) so I clean them before I go to bed as well. Hubby doesn't though. A couple of times a week with him. I'm amazed they haven't fallen out and I've warned him they'll go like his Dad's (a mess) if he fails to look after them. My dentist is in Blackpool as there are hardly any NHS Dentists here in Carlisle. In fact, John is on an NHS Waiting List for a new dentist as his retired one wasn't replaced immediately. How I'm glad I've kept with my dentist in Blackpool, otherwise I wouldn't be able to see one for years on end like John either! MEN!!

I couldn't last a day without brushing my teeth at least once! Imagine, you'd have a mouth full of white stuff (A mouthful of plaque!) And that just feels gross! You would be able to see stuff gathering between your teeth and on your tongue. Your friend might just be teasing you, but it's kinda gross even if you don't brush, and not because you can't but because you just don't feel like it.

I would hate not brush my teeth at least once per day. They do feel gross to me before I brush them especially if I have to go to bed without them brushed. In the morning I wait til after I eat breakfast otherwise my breakfast will taste like peppermint, I actually loathe the taste of most peppermint candies, etc. So it is a challenge for me to taste it but I still end up brushing them anyways. I have always brushed my teeth as a kid too and my brother never has. He now has false teeth but as a kid he never got cavities but they were so yellow after awhile. Mine aren't that white but yellow is just nauseating to me. I am doing things to prevent the offwhite look again now, but I can't use most of their store bought whiteners as some of them might make my colitis flair up again if I swallow the product. I can't stand a mouth that feels gross, though, yuck. A travel size toothpaste and brush would be ideal for you when you are at someone else's home. I would even have one for guests if I had them over often enough. Of course replaced new ones (brushes) if they are used, but we never have anymore overnight guests here.

I brush my teeth once a day, before bed. As you sleep your mouth basically becomes a pool of germs and I feel that doing it of a night is better so I can cut out the growth. If my teeth feel grimy after a meal I will brush my teeth. Of course I as well rinse and floss, but I only floss once a week. My boyfriend...well I don't know he brushes them once or twice a week...makes me angry to bits. I always nag him because I don't want him to lose his teeth or anything.
