We know that food with fat helps a person to become over weighted. But recently a study says, at midnight if a person eats food with less calories also can become fatty. Eating at night watching movies or browsing internet is the cause of gaining
weight. So the researchers made caution about eating at midnight. Chief researcher Sachinananda Panda of California Institute for Biological Studies says, a study reveals that at day time humans body functions at full energy. But at night the digestion system of humans body takes rest. As a result the major portion of food taken at night can not digested. From this food 70 percent fat stored in the body and a person becomes fatty.

My biggest meal for the day is lunch. It´s a lot bigger than the night meal which usually consisys only of a cup of coffee with milk and some bread with cheese, avocado or scrambled eggs. When I stay late, I might have another cup of coffee.

I´m not much of a soup person as midnight snacks go, but fortunatly I don´t eat fat food either. A cup of coffee or a small amount of bread with something on it will do.

It is not good to eat a lot of food at night time because there may be proper digestion inside your body. So try to have something light food so that you don't feel hungry at might time.

There's the reason it's hard for me to lose weight! I love eating during night especially in front of my pc since it's stimulates my brain. Will try to lessen my eating habits since i'm trying hard to lose some pounds. thanks for the info. :)

Actually, the stories that you hear about the fact that you're not supposed to eat food late at night is mostly a myth. Although your digestion might be better early on in the evening, your body is still going to use the same amount of calories each day, and it makes no difference whether it is getting those calories from the food that you have just eaten, or whether it is getting them from fat reserves from the things that you had eaten the night before. There have been a lot of studies done about this, it would almost certainly seem that it is nothing but a myth.

this is true. we are advised to not eat heavy meals around 4 hours before sleep, which include midnight. for those working at night, it is not a problem to eat at midnight, as long as it is more than 4 hours before you actually sleep. even if you eat low fat food, it still get stored as fat in the body since you eat it when the body is not using much energy (before sleep).
