Er, apparently not.
The culprits are Studio. They sell allsorts of crap although I did buy my two matching items for the bathroom from them a couple of years ago. So, periodically, they send me catalogues (customers have an option of paying over so many weeks if ordering lots of things) which is probably what they're hoping for with this latest offering.
Well, they can SOD OFF because Christmas is cancelled!
Damn cheek!
Have you received any Christmas catalogues through the post lately? Were you as excited as I was? NOT!

Seems a bit early, even for those who do their Christmas shopping months in advance. I think it sort of takes away from the holiday to commercialize it so early. . .why can't they just send the catalog without all the Christmas decorations in it? Oh well, I'm sure the Halloween decorations will be up in all of the stores by June, and then the Christmas ones will be right around the corner.

There was no mention of Halloween in the catalogue, amazingly. Just the usual summer tat at the front and a whole host of Christmas tat at the back..and I bet most of it was out of stock anyway as everything was greatly reduced and they don't normally do that if there is loads to choose from, as demonstrated by a shopping trolley Mum ordered for my Dad. It never arrived. Fortunately, she didn't have to pay up-front so that was a relief, I suppose!

Well, this catalogue with the shopping trolley in it was about 4 months ago..and that had Christmas tat in it as well, so I guess the lesson here is..don't buy anything from a reduced catalogue that has Christmas tat at the back. Oh, and it wasn't a present as such..just something that would help my Dad carry more shopping in.

That stinks! I hope your Mum was able to get him a different present. There must be a lesson here--how about "beware of catalogs that list Christmas items in May!"

Are you sure that it is not for Christmas in July? Lots of people seem to celebrate that these days for some strange reason. One Christmas per year is enough and now is not the time of year to be promoting anything to do with it. It is bad enough that we get bombarded with Christmas stuff for the three months leading up to December 25th!
BAAAAH HUMBUG!

Believe me, the catalogue had a Christmas helper cartoon character on the front (you know, red uniform and matching silly hat) so that gave me a major clue..plus the fact the catalogue itself was red. Mind you, I didn't get to the Christmas tat until the last few pages, ranging from fibre-optic angels to fake trees and wrapping-paper..oh, and not forgetting toys for kids that will break after 10 minutes of use.
BAH! HUMBUG! Indeed!

Well people have really said that Christmas is really getting earlier and earlier every year. And here I am sitting here thinking that no matter how much I enjoy the season, the fact it, is is kind of absurd that I am seeing Christmas decorations right in the store in late August, early September, but that really just trumps that one hundred percent of the time.
But this absurdity really does rather trump that absurdity. I have not received any catalogs right in the mail yet. Not stay that I really won't right in the near future when you really think about it. I really just really think that when the summer hasn't arrived completely, getting anything for Christmas. No matter how much you enjoy the season, much too soon.

I know what you mean..it's way too early to even think about Christmas, never mind buy anything. It's too commercialised as it is without being bombarded even earlier with "tat."

I've not done any surveys lately but a survey for Christmas tins is indeed unusual..and I'd ignore it lol.

Not too uncommon, these companies are trying to make you but your gifts early and not rush so you don't buy when there are big sales everywhere else.

well, although not receiving any catalogues for Christmas, i would be excited as i have already started my Christmas shopping! i pretty much start on Boxing day for the next year. i do this so i don't spend as much money at once. its easier to swallow if done all throughout the year for me, financially.

I must admit I've had a sneaky peek at my catalogue and EVERYTHING in there is greatly reduced, including all the Christmas decorations and the like. I'm not tempted though because Mum ordered a shopping trolley (I did it online for her) using one of their discount codes a while back and it never arrived. Fortunately, she wasn't charged but it was frustrating the thing never turning up. I suspect it's the same with the items in this latest greatly reduced catalogue as well, which is why I'm not bothering with it.
It's now in my recycling box!

the catalogue drops through the door with a hearty thump! it gets chucked on the stairs then finds it way into the living room, where i try very hard not to open it, but temptation looms, this time i avoided the christmas cards and wrapping paper. After all I did a little stock take, I have a stock of over 250 christmas cards and 16 rolls of wrapping paper. and not to mention additions to my christmas deccies year after year. No this time, from the catalogue i went to the back pages and indulged in my other passion.. gardening! solar fairies! how naff and only in Studio! they are sitting out in my night garden now, happily glowing away. But you are right, about the crap stuff. I also bought a set of 4 boxes with lids. the first one I slotted together split! its like betterware and the avon catalogue, you see stuff you think you really need, but never ever use!

I've seen a blind cleaner I've got my eye on. A must-have for anyone with blinds..but I've resisted..for now!
We have quite a lot of rather nice Christmas wrapping paper from about 3 years ago (not from Studio I must confess). Because I've no money to buy lots of presents, obviously I'm not using up all the rolls at once. At this rate it will take me another 5 years to get rid of them!

Isn't it just? I resist going into Town on many occasions because the shops bombard us with seasonal stuff way in advance, thinking we're all going to fall for it. Because of the bad weather in April retail sales have fallen as the shops had stocked up on summer wear that no-one was buying. More fool them!

Some catalogue sellers are having year round Christmas sales, every day in a year is a Christmas eve ready for SALES. That's the result of commercialization of a religion's holy day by profit driven corporate greeds, it does make a lot of sense to them except the consumer.

The business they did really reached a very high level. You bought something from there several years ago, they still periodically send you their catalogues.I think the items listed in the catalogues are what they want to sell the most.
