Just listening to the news and they said they did kill the lion. So sad. But they said that this is the second one in a year or so that has come into the town. And they said that in younger ones shooting it with a trancquilizer bullet can make it more animated and dangerous. Your thoughts.

I am sad they killed it. I can't imagine the tranquilizer making it more animated. I have seen them knock an elephant out and move it before..why not a mountain lion?

If they are too young they are too animated and the shot takes a while to act. Some one could get hurt.

Yes, it can make it more dangerous, but when the tranquilizer kicks in about three minutes after given, it will be out. I guess maybe they think those three minutes will give it time to find a human? It's just a shame. I still kind of think they are killing it because it's easier. I sound like PETA. I'm not. I just hate for it to die when there is another way to handle it.

Yes, it is sad to take its life. I hope they weren't lying about the reasons given.

Ya, but I guess in this case they couldn't. Wouldn't take to the meds right as I said. Atleast they gave good reasoning for taking it out.

It was pretty sad. They did explain why it went down that way too.

Too sad. Please don't kill animals just because they're wild.

True. but they did explain why things went down as they did. Makes some sense.

Oh that's so sad. I feel that an animal's life is important just like ours, but when an animal comes into human territory or when humans encroach on wildlife territory, bad things can happen and of course a mountain lion will be killed if it is necessary. I feel very bad for it too. I think human development in wild territories forces the animals out of their habitats. Sad.

I feel the same way. It is sad. Atleast they gave good reasoning for doing it.

maybe they should use a stronger tranquilizer.. But i think it is better than it going wild and hurting other people.. Since we have little choice, man or animal..

What would a stronger trancquilizer do? If the tranc doesn't hit or absorb into the blood stream it won't do much good to increase it.
