Do You Like Being Tickled And If Not, Why Not?

The tickling sensation is weird, isn't it? On the one hand you start laughing because you're being tickled but after a bit (a few seconds, usually) you want it to stop. I wonder why that is? Are there any areas of your body that you LIKE being tickled or is tickling banned? I can stand my feet being tickled for a few seconds but that's all I can bear. I've often poked John in the sides and tried tickling him there but he resists! Another area I quite like being tickled is the back of my neck..but a massage is better.

Hello Janey, I don't like the feeling of being tickled,I really can't stand a bit of it.I'm sure I will yelled to that person whose tickling me. The most part will be in my footstep, ough that's really annoying.Even a simple touch to my footstep no one should ever do that or else he/she will surely get a kicked from me.That is really unbearable for me being tickled.I will end up crying if they keep tickling me when I said stop. Have a nice day!

Awww, I can tell you really don't like being tickled and in actual fact, I'm like you..if someone were to FORCE the tickling onto me I wouldn't be impressed one bit (especially my feed)..and I'd kick them like you would lol.

well i guess not all people enjoyed being tickled...of course, we find it hard to breathe when we keep on laughing and turns out to crying when we really can't help ourselves... same way here...don't like being tickled in the foot...might end up kicking someone...that's why sometimes i don't like the idea of having foot massage or foot spa..

Oh I don't like being tickled. I don't like the feeling even though it makes me laugh a lot, I don't like it doing to me because I cannot stop laughing. I don't know why we don't like that too.

Perhaps we're scared that too much laughing could kill us or something..it has been known.

Well it depends on who is doing the tickling, and where the tickling is taking place. It just drives me crazy when my wife tickles my feet, I just cannot stand to have my feet tickled, however there are places that affect me just the opposite, in fact I never quite get enough tickling in that place!

Haha! Yes, I'd forgotten about the armpits (silly me) as that's a definite no-go area for me. I don't know anyone else who likes it either.

I hate being tickled. Fortunatly I reached the age when noone does it. But my laughter from being tickled at childhood was desperation and not fun at all. There are lots of nice ways to relate to other people. If you are a child, you like to be held, embraced and kissed. My father gave us all enormous bear hugs, specially when he played with us that he was the giant (We all went against him and he always won). I never tickled my daughters because I did not like that.

I'm into "enormous bear hugs" as well and the fact my hubby is way taller than me, it's even better.

Back of the neck? I didn't get tickled in that part. Well I think it's because when we are being tickled are excessive laughter makes us hard to breath. Because of that we want it to stop the ticklish sensation that we have besides of the irritable feeling of being tickled.

I can only stand a few seconds of the back of my neck being tickled..but it's nice..in small doses!

I used to be very ticklish, but I worked hard to over come it. Maggiepie is extremely ticklish, and I know all of her least favorite places to do it! In fact, about the only place I'm still ticklish is my upper palette, needless to say, only the dentist gets there!

Do you like tickling others? I guess, not. I must admit though, I've not tickled hubby for ages (or, more to the point) TRIED to tickle him.

Only the kids, and that´s just because they think it´s so much fun.

I am not a fan of being tickled. It drives me nuts and makes my whole body tense and tension is not a good thing. I used to love tickling my kids when they were really little though. My daughter used to be yelling at me to stop and then when I did she would cheekily ask...moooore?

Haha! I was like that when I was little. Strangely enough, I think the little ones can endure tickling more than adults..we can learn off them..er..perhaps not!

I don't like being tickle cause I'm too weak for that, the worst part of my body that is weak are my feet and my armpit. I can't stand that, I laugh out loud and at the end I will cry. I'd rather not to be tickled though it makes us laugh.

It's a strange sensation isn't it? At first we love it and then it makes us cry if we're tickled too much. All very odd lol.

True, the first time I cried is when my sister tickling me non stop while we're ready to sleep, I ended up crying cause I can't stand the feeling anymore.

I don't like being tickled, for I can't stand the laughter it brings to me and everytime they tickle me, I see to it that I have to avoid it immediately cause I might end up crying as well cause of too much laughters...can't bear the feeling anymore..sometimes it would be fun but not to the point where can't breathe anymore...

yes, of course. we all have limits and sometimes when it reaches the end of it, we can't handle it anymore and makes us angry or cry as well.

I actually don't like being tickled. The reason is that not only can I actually handle it, my reflexes are to swing my arms or kick my legs. And because of that I feel like I might hurt someone. So I don't like being tickled.

I'd never thought of that and you're sooo right too. I once made the mistake of warming my cold feet on John's leg and it shot out at a fast rate of knots lol.

Nice!!! LOL. Well thats why I stay away from being tickled. It is just an automatic reflex for me to swing my arms or kick. And like I said, I don't want to hurt anyone.

When I was a kid I used to really like being tickled. Now that I am an adult o don't like it as much because it is something I can't control. Also o think it is a little weird to tickle another adult. I remember at camp when I was a counselor kids would try to tickle you all the time, suppose I just got tired of it!

Yes, I can imagine more than one child at any one time wanting to tickle you would be a real pain after a while, I can well understand why you would get tired of it!

I don't mind being tickled, just not for too long. My husband, on the other hand, dislikes it altogether. If I massage his back or feet, I have to be "rough", or it will tickle him and he will flop like a fish (a 200 lb fish). :) I do wonder though, why is it that the "funny" sensation only lasts a few seconds, and then it's more like pain?

I'd like to know the answer to that question as well. Hopefully, some expert boffin-type character will come on here and explain it all to us. I'm baffled, I really am!

I hate being tickled so much. It annoys me so bad and makes me angry. I had this one guy who liked me that I was friends with and every time we would cuddle he would keep tickling me it was so stupid. I kept telling him not to do it and how much I hated it but he always did it. Makes me not want to hang out with him at all.

Oh dear. It's not good is it when you ask someone to stop the tickling and they carry on with it. That would annoy me as well.

No. I am afraid of it so I'll run and hide from the tickler person or hold their hands really tight so they can't use them and say "Please don't". Its no fun for me.

It's horrible when someone wants to tickle you and you don't want anything to do with it. My brother was the biggest culprit with this and, like you, I'd have to run away!

The most tickling part is my feet. I can't stop myself laughing at first but it makes me weak and couldn't breath. I think that's one of the reasons also why people don't like to be tickled for so long.

Oh yes, tickling can have a good effect as it does build trust, I agree. Couldn't stand it all the time though lol.
