Soul is a software!

I attended a computer workshop recently! The facilitator after introducing himself and the subject matter of the workshop said a very interesting statement. He said a computer is like a human being with a hardware which in case of the human is the body(physical form) and a software. In a human's case its the soul! So a soul is essentially how you get your body to work! So for the sake of sharing and not starting a war, what do you think?

I think this is inaccurate and that the person doesn't properly understand the meaning of 'soul'. If the hardware is the physical body, then the most accurate analogy for the software would be the mind, not the soul. It is difficult to think of a computer analogy for 'soul'. The nearest I can think of is the way in which the computer interface is 'attractive' (or otherwise) to the human operator. The soul is more of a 'quality' or a 'facility' than a program or an application. It is the ability which a human has to communicate with a higher power or being and the connection that the soul provides between the higher power and the mind we call 'conscience' (in other words, the perception of good and evil). You might, therefore, think of an antivirus program as something like the computer's 'conscience', but the analogy is really rather weak!

Perhaps the nearest analogy I can think of is the protocol which is needed for a computer to connect to the Internet. A protocol is neither software nor hardware and nor is it, by itself, a program. It is the set of rules which is used by both software and hardware to communicate over a network, for example, or to read and interpret a particular file format.

I answered (as best I could) above, too. You are right. MyLot don't (generally) send notifications of comments on comments.

In answering this question we have a problem, people bandy about the terms, brain, mind, consciousness, soul without having a clear understanding of what they are or which is which. So, let is start to expedite the mater: though this, due to space and time constraints does not claim to be a full expedition Brain, a physical structure within the skull, this is the hardware, if you like though even here there is lack of clarity since there is some good evidence that the nerve conglomeration around heart should also be included here Mind, a rather vague term that in some sense is the functioning of the brain without saying that that mind is reducible to the function of the brain, thus the mind is the software, the operating system and applications Consciousness, if you like the mind looking at itself, this then is a rather super software as yet unavailable, a self aware, self regulating program that has solved the 'frame-problem, that is in contains concepts of relevance. But it is more beside because somewhere between consciousness and soul lies value creation I would not attempt to sum up soul but I will just say some of what soul is, is that value creation, of which I spoke earlier and also recognition of the infinite all the best urban

Well, think about some artificial intelligence what goals or motivation might it have, other than what was programmed into it. Humans create or discover values the provide their motivation all the best urban

Interesting but could you shed more light on value creation!

That's a cute reality. Without the software the computer can not work. And so without the soul our body can not work too. It sounds strange but true.

hahaha, it is so funny...however to make easily understand..he did a good job when make a compare between human and a computer....

Well he certainly made me look at my soul in a different way! I never thought the connection between soul and body was that simple! Thanks for dropping by!

In a way software can be said as soul of the computer but a non thinking one, only difference between human and computer, we think computer only take instructions ...

hai mysticalecstasy.. i just laugh after read this,,can't hold laughing in your line "SO for the sake of sharing and not staring a war," haha so funny my friend.but anyway,as i can understand what the facilitator wanted to explain is , it's not literal..the facilitator just example it as a soul, because it is not tangible and it contains items that run/operates the hardware part,,it is also kept important matter,it is also contained and described facts.. have a nice day..

I think it is a good example.Let`s say the soul is the Operating System like Windows or Linux. The problem is each individual is using a different version.

Everyone has a different version like a personalized version! Got that! Pretty simplified view don't you think! Thanks for dropping by! Happy mylotting!

yes, this compare absolutely right.software maintain a computer at the same way soul maintain a human body...

23 May 12
Hi rony! You say soul maintains the human body, meaning the human body can continue to function as long as the software i.e soul is intact and functioning perfectly! Thanks for popping in!

I completely agree and I heard the exact same thing in middle school back a while ago. Without a soul, you would not be living your life to the fullest and doing as much as it could do!

So the soul is completely different entity from the body! Like a computer software, we make use of our body via the soul!
