I've been here on myLot for a little over a month. Quite a short stay yet as compare to others. But my stay here endears me more to the people I am meeting here because of the stories they are sharing through discussions.
I have to admit that there are some discussions which affects me because there are some people here whom I already considered my friends even though I have not met them personally yet. There are sad stories and there are happy ones too if you checked some of the discussions which tells a glimpse of story on one's life. I find some thought provoking stories, some are heart-breaking, while others are just plain interesting and smile inducing.
And sometimes, I feel that some of the people I usually interact with here are already a part of my life. It feels good to have new friends.
I never thought that I could be affected by someone else's life through sharing in discussions. This platform is really amazing.
How about you? do you sometimes get affected too just by reading and joining discussions here on myLot? I love to hear your thoughts

HI!
You see when we make friends with others, we are affected by their stories and what has been happening in their life. Some discussions do tell us what is happening day in and day out with our friends, as they keep posting regular discussions.
Over the years, I have made very good friends here on mylot and for me they are as good as real life friends and I love to interact with them.

Hello dpk262006, I think that is also one of the great things about myLot, the possibility of gaining friends even if it is virtual, and the fact that eventually you can be friends with them outside the internet too.

Indeed some of our Mylot friends can really affect us sometimes, specially when they discuss their health problems.
You participate in the discussion and yet at night you would think, "is my friend okay already? , I will try to follow up tomorrow in Mylot."

Hello SIMPLYD, I agree with you. Sometimes when I am no longer online I always think of those people here who mentioned that they are having some health problems or any kind of problems and always wish that they are doing okay.

Yeah, It's right. I'm too affected sometimes. I have been in mylot longer than you but I had not been mylotting frequently. But I did whenever I got time. If I did respond to a discussion, I keep thinking about them when I'm offline about what they maybe thinking about my response and what would have they commented. I have always enjoyed sharing and discussing.

Mylot is a nice place.
Some of discussions here are somehow related in other people's life and experienced too.It sometimes affect us and gibe sympathy to it.Sharing things here is a good way to overcome things and express the real you.

Hello preciousjayje, I also love knowing fellow myLotters' opinion on different things and issues. They may remind me of some sad moments in my life, but some surely reminds me of those hapy days as well. So I guess there is a balance and that makes it worth mentioning here.

I've only been on Mylot for two days and the stories and discussions on here are so much better than I ever expected, seriously. I had really just to read some boring topics and post some generic answers to hurry up and collect whatever I could, but the topics and people are really so engaging. And just from reading through the discussions I can definitely tell that a lot of people on here have formed real relationships on here so it makes em excited to continue posting here in the future.

I am often impacted by what I read, in one way or another. Sometimes I can really relate to a person and what they are expressing. Other times I see how different I am from a person giving their thoughts. Sometimes I pick up new information and others I am encouraged to learn even more about other people and their lives. Their are various reasons why people come to My Lot to read and share, and in the end we all benefit by helping one another in that process.

I agree with you that there are different reason why people stay here on myLot. In my case, I am enjoying the sharing and giving of each others point of view regarding a lot of things. And like what you have said, at the end of the day, we will all learn from each other.

One of the things that I like the most about this website is the fact that there are so many people on here who are willing to share their stories with people who they don't even know. And then people are willing to give them advice and would do anything to help them even though they don't have a clue who they are behind the computer screen. I have cried in the past when I have read things that people have posted, because it makes me feel very sorry for them, and helps me to remember just how lucky I am to be able to live in this life.

Just like you, I am also affected by what my friends shared on myLot. There are times that those stories I've read here are somewhat similar to what I've experienced. I've joined this site for about two months, although lately I was not very active in the daily discussion since I am on a training and I don't have much time. But still if I found time, I will not let the time passed without visiting myLot. This one of a kind site that's why I love it here.

Yes I do get affected! There are really some sad stories here on myLot and they start to make depressed and sad which ruins my day. People should post happy things here on myLot!!

Hello raganator27, I hope my discussion doesn't sound negative or something and I hope you do not misunderstood me. I have no problem with people sharing their problems here as a matter of fact I admire them because it takes courage sharing your saddest moment without the fear of being judge. Also, I appreciate that these people are open to accept opinions from their fellow myLotters, so honestly, I salute them.
While it is also good to read about positive things here on myLot, I really don't mind reading otherwise.
