You know how some people say good things always come out of the bad things.
Well,I think I found mine!
Recently a very bad experience forced me to travel the East Coast (of the US).
I saw the most beautiful animals and plant life in every state I traveled through.
I mean, it was really BREATHTAKING!
And even when I arrived back in my home town, I was suddenly aware of the beauty around me that I had taken for granted for so very many years.
I feel as though my eyes were suddenly opened to my surroundings.
I feel truly blessed and I shall remain aware of the beauty of my surroundings all my life.

I think it's great that you found that in your life!
So many people are in a hurry to do things and don't "stop to smell the roses"
I was in a hurry to go on vacation one year to Hawaii, I had so many things I wanted to see and do and one of the best things during the whole time there was just sitting & drinking coffee on the hotel balcony facing the ocean in the mornings.
It was something that I don't usually have the option of doing and it was pure beauty and relaxation for me, I wouldn't trade that for anything.
I've got a front porch where there is a lot of traffic, you would think that I'd hate going out there but here I sit, on the porch swing, feeling the beautiful weather, in between vehicles, I hear the birds singing. It's not great but if I block everything else out that I don't want to deal with...it's pretty awesome!
Seems like no matter where I go, I always can find something wonderful about everything!

I had the exact same experience. My husbands job forced us to move to the west coast by U-haul then we moved around for each subsequent job. People would say to me, that's too bad you have to move. Now we are settled but still moving for each promotion. Fine with me.
I saw our beautiful country and I want to travel even more, to other countries when we retire. I cannot imagine dying and not seeing more of this beautiful country, people, different plant life, animals like lizards, scorpions, different birds landscapes even the light is different in different places that can be only experienced in person.
