I'm starting to learn french so I wanted to improve my listening by watching a lot of French movies, but those seem to be nearly impossible to find online. Does anyone know a good place to watch or at least buy French films?

I've been able to buy some French Movies I've seen and enjoyed on Amazon or through Ebay in the past...I know there are sites that will allow streaming of movies, but I'm not familiar with any that would show French Movies..
A few I've bought would be "Amelie","District 13","Delicatessen",and the original "Taxi" Movies..(Not the Queen Latifah US Remake!)
TV and Radio channels worldwide will have a web presence, and some will broadcast shows on "catch up" TV/Radio/Webcast services-worth checking out, useful for Students..I was brushing up on my German a while back, and found German News feeds online that even offered the News read slowly! I don't see why French stations Shouldn't have some similar options....Itunes will have downloadable podcasts from educators helping those learning or improving their language skills..good luck finding some!

thanks, those good ideas. For some reason I didnt even think of ebay, and I love that site so much. I especially appreciate you recommended somethings to watch, it can be hard to figure out where to start with movies. I;ve tried Amelie before.....not really my taste.

I saw "Amelie" the first time around in the cinema,so I got the DVD following that..That kind of whimsical comedy might not be to everyone's taste,true..
But there aren't that many French language movies I'd be aware of that made it in the mainstream outside of French speaking Countries..Most French Movies popular outside that zone would be considered "Arthouse" Cinema.

Hello there, to learn a language, I don't think you only can learn via seeing a film. There are all kinds of resources that can help you to learn and practice. You can also learn via www.youtube.com, which you may have heard about it. Alternatively, you can have a visit this site: www.busuu.com, which an official language learning site. You can make friends from the site and chat with them in French and practice your writing, listening and reading etc. There will be lots of fun. Good luck!
