Do you believe in Maya's prophecy- what is your point of view?

Thinking about what happened in the last few days- earthquakes in Italy and Bulgaria, I was wondering if the Maya's prophecy is actually something that is going to happen for real. Never thought about it before, but now... I don't know. It looks like the planet wants to tell us something, but just don't know what.
What about you? Do you believe in that prophecy or it's just a rumor for you?

well, we told a lots about Maya's prophecy but i don't think it is going to happen. This time the weather is not nice, big big raining in my place during few days, i haven't seen it before. But it doesn't mean that our earth will be in dangerous situation.
Take it easy my friends...

If I remember correctly the Mayans did not count the leap years, in fact leap years hadnt been happening yet. Julias Ceasar brought in the leap year in 45BC. So some say that according to the Maya calendar we are ahead and the world should have ended last year.

Well, that's interesting. It's a new theory I haven't heard about, but will do my research just to find out more about it. thanks

Hi phoenix, The Mayans prophecy doesn't say that the world will end this year and I don't think it was ever meant to be taken that way. I do feel however that we are entering a period of great change, which will eventually lead to a much better world than we have today. We have always had earthquakes, but we didn't hear about it unless it happened in our part of the world. I am more inclined to watch things like the uprising of the common people against dictators, and ordinary people demanding a greater share of the world's wealth. We now have ninety percent of the money in the world, controlled by ten percent of the people - make no mistake, this will change. Blessings.

Hi Pose,
long time no see :)
I have to agree with you, but I am only not sure if that change will lead to something better or it will be something worse, as I see what's going in the last couple of years, I think it will be worse

I think someone was very paranoid and just happened to come across this afew years back. They put it out into the media and media took and ran with it. I think just as several other things in the last decade or more have done what they set out to do. Freak people out. And make them wonder....what if??

Think you are right. Nowadays media can be very cruel- trying to freak people out just to attract more audience...

I don't think it will. If it was right, then wouldn't the Mayan civilation still be going strong today instead of coming to an end? Just a thought.

No other prediction across the world could boast the success of being right about the world ending. Humans are truly obsessed with this topic, but no, the Maya actually have another calendar, recently discovered that is much larger, longer and not ending this year. Rumors like these should honestly be dispelled by most Christians, the Bible says that man will not know when the world ends, period. Everyone else just falls for the excitement.

Hi,
I've heard about that new calendar and it actually says that next year will be the beginning of a new era- something will change- hope it will be for good

Twenty earthquakes take place each day somewhere in the world so that is not much of a prediction!
The Mayan world was maybe 100 mile in diameter and their predictions covered what they knew in their sphere of influence. It means nothing in todays world.

Well, I am not talking about some insignificant earthquakes- what I mean is earthquakes with buildings destroyed, killed people etc... But have to agree with the "sphere of influence" have a nice day

Absolute rubbish one hundred percent of the way, of course given recent evidence people are backtracking. Because people went with the Mayan angle for so long, that a lot of people are not believing it. So there was more to the Mayans discovered, that indicated that the world might not be ending after all on the dooms date. Imagine that. I guess we need a new angle to scare the gullible with.
Of course that is not going to say that the world will never end. Because believe me, it will and likely because of our own stupidity. I've said it before and I'll say it again, humans have peaked and it is all downhill from here for the entire lot of us. Whether it be from mother nature or some crazed idiot deciding to fire off some good old fashioned nuclear weapons. Or one day, we could just look up to an earth shattering kaboom and then its over the next second.

Yeah, I know that some day the end will come- some scientists say that it will be in 5 million years, others say in 15000 years, because of the magnetosphere being destroyed every day. So the end will come sooner or later, but the question is are we going to be alive to see it...

How about Nostradamus predictions or never heard about him?
I think the world/mother Earth works by a scedule. Look back into history and you can see it. So nothing new happens now what haven't been there in the past already. No matter what human being is doing, things will go exactly the way it will or is ment to be. Some wrote it down, others just sayed it.

Yes, I've heard about him, but just can't remember what his prophecy was. By the way, as far as I can remember, many of his prophecies have come true, but really can't remember if he said something about world's end. cheers

hi. Im not a fan of mayan civilizations thats why I dont believe. Im kidding. I just dont believe them because like the mayan calendar about to end on december 21 . I have faith in god and I put all my trust in him. We cant really tell whats going to happen in the future and I can tell that because thats what I do believe.

Well, I am not a fan as well, but can't really say if I believe or not to what they said
Today I watched a TV show where they said that there are no clues about world's end in Maya's calendar...

I don't think Maya's prophecy is going to happen. They were good in astrology based on their interests. Indian and Chinese civilizations were also good and they predicted many theories of astrology still true and active based on their logic and algorithmic calculations.

Yeah, I know they were good in astrology, but what if they were good in prophecies as well :) There is another theory now, that says Maya's prophecy is not correctly translated- the truth regarding the new translation is that 2012 will be the beginning of a new era. thanks for commenting
