Are you a minivan mom, why or why not?
Me I don't like minivans at all. I don't want one I don't have one. I'm a short person and minivans and trucks aren't really made for small women like me. I can see over the hood even with the seats raised some times. That they are just so big and take up all this space and they are hard to park. They are great if you have a lot of kids. But me I only have two. So this past summer when we got our first car as a family because before then it was just my husbands sports car not the best for when you have a baby. We need something that was both us and that is what we got. We got a nice small 4 door car. My husband knows I would only go up to a station wagen is the biggest I would get. I've only drive one time and SUV that was my dads car but he has one of the smaller ones not the normal size big ones.

I'm not a big mini-van person either, ShyBear88. But it's more a question of style and not because I'm too short to be able to drive one safely. In fact, I have very long legs, and am often complimented on them. But that's another discussion.
I have had a minivan, and it was useful in some ways, but I just didn't like it. I also had the SUV and I didn't like it either, but that was more for environmental reasons and I felt guilty driving it.
I have driven a truck, and it was great because it gave me plenty of room for other things, and it had the largest back seat available (even bigger than cars) for my children. In fact, it was great.
If I had only two children, or just one, I would think it sensible to have a small 4-door car like you have chosen for your family.

We plan to have two more kids but my parents had three kids and we all fit in a 4 door car when we where younger but there was good age differences so there wasn't like several car seat in the back seat they can take up a lot of room. I notice recently after cleaning out our car that with an infant car seat and a front facing one you can only fit one person about my size in the back seat in the center.
For me when it comes to car shopping I'm more for all about function and affordability. My dad gave me the best advise of my adult hood last year when we bought this car. Don't' fall in love with them, it's okay to like a car but not love them same with houses. I knew I wouldn't feel comfortable in anything that was too big more like i have issues with the hood of a car then how high off the ground it is. I like sports cars but for me they aren't really built for someone my size and a lot of them the slight touch will either make the car fly or stop really quick.
I'm glad that we found the car we did and we are the second owners of this car and it was made in 2007 when me and my husband graduated high school. It's a great little car and fits most every ones size. After driving my dads car I know I can drive a small suv but I would still be more comfortable with something like a station wagon where you have the 2 back seats.

It is the wise advice your father gave you about the buying the cars. And the houses. I do not like to buy the new car. I am driving the same car for the past 14 years, and will continue to drive it as long as I can. That is why the maintaining it is so important. I also had the other car for the 20 years.

Okay but why you forgot to mention why you don't like minivans?
