I have only really been into snakes for about a year now and already found 2 snake species which are considered rare, one being a Jan's Shovel snout and the other a Shield Nose snake. I currently reside in Mozambique. Also, have any of you ever found any rare or interesting snakes before?

Hello
I am not at all familiar with Southern African snakes. Have you seen a Jan's Shovel snout snake or a Shielf Nose snake in the wild? What are the policies for killing snakes in your area of the world?
I realize that you enjoy snakes. Do you have any pet snakes?
Once, I saw an Eastern Indigo snake on my farm. These are considered rare where I live. In fact, I didn't even know what kind it was when I saw it, and only learned after I described it to someone else. It was beautiful. I am not into snakes, but I appreciated the beauty of this snake and watched it until it slithered away.
I have seen a lot of snakes around where I have lived, some venomous, and some not.

Hi, yes, I have seen both those species in the wild. Just haven't found a living Jan's Shovel Snout yet.
I live in a 3rd world country, so I have no idea what the law regarding animals are. In South Africa it is illegal to kil an animal.
Yes, I am a snake pet owner, I have 8 snakes. I also offer snake removal services to people in our little town.
Its cool that you found a rare snake in the wild before.. Next time I hope you have your camera hndy! ;-)
