Composer or lyricist more important?

It is a debate whether the composer or lyricist has a more important role in the song. Which one is vital for the song to be great? I don't know myself but I would like to hear the opinions of other music listeners.

In my opinion,i think composer is probably the vital key of making a successful song these days.I mean lyrics can be crappy and stuff but if the tune is catchy people will still listen to it.Music these days are just filled with stupid lyrics but people still listen to them because of the catchy beat.
