That Muslims fast more as a rule is probably true. Perhaps in time fasting will give you sufficient discipline not to sleep past the alarm. As I understand it Muslims fast only between sun up and sun down, is that correct? all the best urban

Fasting is practiced mostly by muslims, not only for its benefits but great rewards to encourage fasting among muslims. Muslims usually fast on tuesday, Thursday and of coz in the month of Ramadhan to get its benefits. but in my case, how does fasting help me not to snooze my alarm? I still fast on Ramadhan and snoozed my alarm

You're like my husband. He keeps on setting an alarm then hitting the snooze when it beeps. Now what I do is take the alarm where he can't reach for it and he needs to get up to stop the alarm from beeping. This wakes him up since he needs to walk a few feet away from the bed. You can try this too or you can just set the alarm on the exact time that you really need to get up from bed so that you don't have a choice.

Well, speaking of bad habits, in my case, I cite in the first place my cunning habit of smoking. Just a bad habit, smoking is very harmful to health and instill a considerable cost in money. I know, I know, I should definitely stop smoking. It will not be an easy task, but I think if i want, I will can! Speaking relating to you, only referring to the fact that switching off the alarm clock and get up late, in my opinion, if you have not appointments to respect, sorry, but I find nothing contradictory. For the rest, you try to be ok with your conscience.

To overcome bad habits. We must know our self much better. If you do have the sense of authority into yourself, chances are you can control your self. Here's what I would like to suggest. I also do that kind of habit but it's not a BAD habit. I make sure that it will alarm at 6:30 in the morning, but sometimes I'm tired, I'll adjust it at around 6:45

I did set alarm a lot of times and only woke up at the right time only seldom times. You know, if you really and badly need to wake up at a particular time, you don't really need an alarm. Your mind comes to know about the time and you automatically wake up at the right or before time. Mind does everything like Buddha said, 'mind is the greatest cheater. It makes thousands of excuses to go on it's way'

Start considering them as good habits.I believe it`s much easier than to try to get rid of them.

I guess its just really mind over matter. And try giving yourself a reward if you get to overcome your bad habit. And also, take it a step at a time. Its not gonna be a 360 degree turn right away. Good luck

If you are trying to get a bad habit, then the best thing that you could do would be to make a conscious effort not to do the thing in question, and to ask whoever lives with you to prevent you from doing those things if they happen to see you at any time. You should find that you are able to stop doing it soon because your attention will be drawn to it to the extent that you start to notice every time you do it, and this is certainly going to be the best way in which you can get rid of those annoying habits.

I think that it depends upon the person and what the bad habit is. If it is something that you do subconsciously, then being more aware of the fact that you do it and keeping it in the forefront of your mind might help, because then you will be thinking about it and more aware of the fact that you are doing it. Of course, when it is something you are doing when you are half-asleep, then that can be a problem. In the case of hitting the "snooze" button too often and waking up late, if you move the alarm clock farther away from your bed so that you have to get out of bed to turn it off, then that might help, because it is more difficult to remain asleep when you have to get out of bed.

I don't think that snoozing an alarm is such a bad thing.I mean all of us do it. But i think that the one way to get rid of such habit is to have a determined mind. And every time you are doing something like that you remind yourself it is not good and stop it. I used to have your same problem too.I still do sometimes,,.Well maybe all the time. But when i really have to get up early in the morning because of something urgent. Then i will get up.I think its because before i go to sleep.I think like"Tomorrow if i don't get up,i'l defenitely miss it"or so.Amd when the alarm rings in the morning,i remember this and will wake up. And if i am free.I wake up really late. And even if someone tries to wake me up.I won't.But if its urgent,i do. Like this one time when i was in parents place and my mom woke me up saying that our neighbour(Who lives alone).Had called saying that she heard some noises in her house and woke up,i woke up immediately and went to her place immediately. And it turns out, someone had tried to open her back door.
