The rabbit cage has been sitting in the middle of my bedroom more as a food stool for the time being. I tend to procrastinate and then the rest of the time Im at work. My SIL who has had small animals for years said you dont need to wash the cage beforebhand. But I justx thought who has touched it in store, and where has it been even in storage. So I took it out back and wiped it all down just like you would the cat litters, and its air drying out there now.

It is a good idea to make sure the cage is thoroughly cleaned before introducing new animals. Your new pets will love you for your loving care.

Yes, he loves his new cage, and he has loads of room in his new house. I am cleaning it tomorrow as well. I try once a week even twice a week with a big clean, and everyday to a quick clean.

It amazes me that people have such little regard for animals. They are beings too and I'm sure they could be vulnerable to bacteria also. I think it only makes sense to sanitize an animal's living quarters from time to time. We clean Rosie's bed.. it's a cage with a bed in it. She gets her bed laundered at least twice a month and my daughter wipes it all down when she does.
