Delhi from the start of the IPL this season were the strongest team to lift the cup bu they failed as tthey might be considered to team of South Africa who are very good but they din't work on the day they need to deliver. DD are chokers of IPL like SOuth africa.
Even you considered othere seasons Delhi go good but they never do well in the playoof or say semis.
Cosidering this lossing against KKR was bad but it happen but today they do a poor selection which lead to poor bowling results in collapse under presuure and lost the match.
Some of the mistake they did are -
Playing offspinner Sunny Gupta who makes his IPL debut instead of purple cap holder Morne Morkel
Gupta produced 47 of 3 overs with shewag bowling his 1 over cocinded 21 of it.
Varun Aaron great master piece bowling from 68 of 4 over he must be saluted.
poor captaincy from shewag who didn't know to get down not inform player vijay.
Some of the poor piece of fielding
too many fulltoss deliver and particularly at the leg side.
Shewag not opening first time, though it might not have effect on game.

well you call them chokers, but some others call this match fixing.
In the match against KKR also, Delhi kept strong batsman in the kitty and forwarded other up the order, I thought, that match Delhi had better chance.
And against CSK, the first mistake from my view is that , they elected bowling.
Secondly as you said, the team was not at all balanced or the best from their kitty.
And Viru not opening the batting.
So all these points to match fixing..??
Any Way CSK displayed some good batting and scored 222, and 222 in an IPL semifinal is not easy to chase, Under pressure any good batting may loss the match, that is what happened to Delhi.

I might not sure it was but this maybe the case of match fixing as you may recall that any fool will play the debutant to the match like this. This is not the match of so called street level or other kinds they are is match fixing might possible playing a debutant and get off the player who was in great form holds max no of wickets in the torunaments. yeah
Now they calling that they need allrounder what a peety fools ans to ripoff the things you can see the link above reply
There might be mistake of bowling first but more was selecting bowlers then did. It may happen but they selected wrong player two of them.

surely picking Sunny Gupta who makes his IPL debut instead of purple cap holder Morne Morkelwas the biggest mistake.
And even though viru picked team like that, then why did he still elected bowling first??
And now coach coming up with some petty explanation by saying that needed all rounder +bowlers to balance the team!
why don't they pick at least Irfan, he would got some runs at least.
Really this match is having a big smell of FIXING.

This is what happened to them in South Africa as well in IPL-2. They topped the league stages and then ran into a rampaging Gilchrist to go out of the tournament without any title. It has again happened again. They were red hot and then they lost to KKR and CSK and are again out of the tournament. But, I think they were themselves to blame as they made their best bowler sit out of such a crucial match.
Cheers!

There is no question that they topped and then failed to a big match. You fully right they dit all to them and now nothing can be changed. If morkel were not out of the match might the game would be diffrent. Perhaps they may had won it batsmen fall because of presuure and poor bowling was result of poor selection. I am confirm that they never going to win the IPL.

All the watchers of the game can feel the absence of Pathan and Morkel in the team becuase the bowling attack of DD was very down. DD has a good batting line up but still they could do anything. The DD was totally down.

Threr is more a chnaces of match fixing as user preiois one said. I am also condired that. Even the franchies are in thsi deals of fixing the matches. Now it full the buiness no emotion of people matters. All matches may be fixied. When something happen uneven this is the cause. Here people are getting fooled and franchies making money by fixing the matches.

I also don't understand why Morne Morkel was left out by Delhi Daredevils, they should have opted for purple cap holder.
Chennai Super Kings batted really well for there 222, lets see if they could repeat this kind of performance against Kolkata Knight Riders in the finals ....

Whole cricket frantenity who follows ipl were in wonder why they not included morkel who was in his best holding purple caps. Now they are defending it by saying - "it was necessitated to maintain the balance of playing six batsmen, four bowlers and an allrounder"
These were the quotes from Eric Simons DD coach
you can get more info about this on the cricinfo

Any defend word will not let DD enter final now allover keep your stategy in you ......

Yeah of course..I second ur thought!
DD started their campaign in the IPL on a winning note but they have failed couple of times very easily and that clearly showed in the semi finals..
