nope not a good idea, if you do remove the cpu fan the cpu temp will rise up quickly everytime you open your pc resulting in reaching the cpu shutdown temp and closing the pc. cpu fan is critical for the cpu health, the better cooling you have there the more it will live.

Try with cpu completely closed. I think that will solve the problem. It happened with me too as I was experimenting new hardware, I kept the CPU open and the same error popped up that time.

Hi pankajgarg, Thank you for the response. I think there's no problem with the chassis because it popped up before when the CPU is completely close. I don't know what keeps the message from coming out when it is in BIOS.

Hi lakantar, I guess you're right. I have another question? In the previous day, I opened up my computer. Then when it was in the BIOS it send out a message saying that the temperature of the CPU was rising. But when I looked at the fan, it seems to work fine. I didn't removed any fan from the CPU but every time I opened up the computer, that message from BIOS was still showing. What could seems to be the problem?

Fan inside your CPU function as a cooler.
It is not an idea to remove CPU fan.
Even your CPU is open air also, cpu fan can maintain the neutral
heat i think. If can plug in another fan, hehe.

Computers tend to need all the cooling they can get, that's why there are aftermarket cooling systems available such as the water coolant type ..Dust can build up all too easily and either affect moving parts or block airflow when there's insufficient air movement inside the case..don't try and save electricity by removing the fan..Letting the computer go to "Sleep" mode when you're not using it may be better,or shutting down altogether...

That's true. when totally expose our cpu can be full of dust in matter of days. And dust can make our cpu go more hotter. I suggest that if you can't clean your open cpu at least three times a week its better not to leave it expose.
Another thing. Fan is cheap compare to the cost if your motherboard over heats.

which exactly are you referring to, The Chassis Fan, (alright to be remove if your Unit is in open air.) And of course you are not talking about the Processors Fan attached to the motherboard. (can't be remove, sometimes we replace it with a harder worker fan to keep the processor cooler) Any way those small FAN inside our Desktops consume around 3-5 watts per hour, meaning if you run your PC for 8 hours a day it consume approx. 1 kw per month ( the FAN only). and 1 Kw cost Php 9.00

Hi mrfdg, yes, I'm referring the chassis fan. I just thinking of removing that because I think it can lessen my expense in electric bill if I remove this from the CPU. By the way. Thanks for this information.

Remove the fan? What for? I mean what is a good idea that its better to remove the fan than left it their?
Me right now I'm using laptop and I even bought external fan just to make my laptop run on more cooler. Because after five hours online its getting hotter.

Hi bulastika, I'm just wondering to remove the fan so I could just lessen the electric expense by little. I would like to use the electric fan so me and the CPU will both get cooled up.

Is there a reason you are removing the fan? If it is no longer functioning, then yes by all means remove and replace it immediately. If you are saying can your computer live without a fan...that answer is a no. Computers, esp. laptops get way too hot and you will end up burning your hardrive without a cooling system.

Hello rewardsinlife, The fan is still functioning but I just wonder if I remove the fan from the CPU it will lessen my expense in electric bills. But I just want to remove only one fan. The fan that is found in the side case of CPU.

Not advisable. After all, the engineers that designed that system had a reason for that fan and if you remove it, it defeats the purpose of the fan.
My advise is to leave it alone.

Don't do it! If you do it, your CPU is going to melt, and the fan is using on a tiny fraction of the overall power going through your computer... it's really the CPU and motherboard that are using the most power. So, if you want to save on power, then shut down the computer when you're not using it.

well, in my opinion you shouldn't remove the fan because it also plays a role in helping the CPU itself in cooling itself.. I actually prefer it when you don't play games because it makes the CPU work a shitload in order to compensate for the demands of the computer.

Actually fans are meant to keep CPU from over heating! I suggest you don't!

Hello friend!
The reason a fan is installed in a pc is for the fact that the motherboard especially the processor becomes very hot during operation and if the heat is not controlled it is very likely that the cpu will get heated and all the components will be burned up.
So as to protect the components, proper airflow is maintained inside a cpu using fans and air vents.
Even the legendary CEO steve jobs like many of us got irritated from the sound of the fan and finally removed it from the original mac and the end result was very drastic heat inside the mac; the mac was then nicknamed toaster as it heated up and burned up a lot!
Until you are using another method to cool off your cpu, I'll advise you not to remove the fan.
** As an alternative you can go for liquid cooling. You can check the internet regarding the details.

You can remove your CPU fan. And left it open but you'll need to put your electric fan infront of your CPU so that you could boost your ordinary CPU fan. That helps if your a gamer and you want to play for a long time.

Yeah i agree with ramyarsoj, as we a technician once told me once he said (You can remove the fan and replace it with another, but you will have to leave the side of the PC open and put it in a place where it can really cool down.) The down side of doing this is that your PC will really get a lot of dust cause its open and expose. Its also risky that you might accidentally pour something or spill water on you PC.
So in total its owkie to do it but the down side is that your PC will be prone to some other problems.
