Does food really have the ability to improve your brain power? If yes, what food do you suggest other than berries ?

Chocolate, especially milk chocolate, is good brain food. I eat as much milk chocolate as I possibly can, especially when I am doing important tasks that require my intense focus. I just love milk chocolate. And ice cold milk with it. Or even ice cold Coca Cola.

Is there a difference between dark chocolate and milk chocolate? I heard that chocolate with a relatively high amount of sugar can make you lose your focus for some people so i guess maybe different people have different brain food?

I am not sure whether there are specific foods which can make your brain more powerful, however I do think that by eating a healthy and balanced diet we should be able to make ourselves more able to work hard. I always notice a difference in my own productivity when I have been eating well to when I have not, and I know that it is because the healthier food makes sure that your body is in the best state that it can possibly be in to be able to complete all of the tasks that it needs to; so eating healthily really can pay for us.

I guess this is really the most credible advice for a long term brain booster. But i am sure there are food that can temporary boost brain power almost instantly

hello there, as long as we take nutritious foods such as green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits, we could maintain the goodness level of our brain. The foods we take will be processed to become oxygen carried by our red blood cells to go to our brains. If we will not take healthy foods no nutrients will be acquired and no oxygen will be delivered to our brain it will cause our brain cells and brain neurons to die or perhaps be damaged.

Read my article on brain food which I need as I have recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's. My evening or afternoon consists of just brain food - seven seeds and nuts - almonds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, flax seed, millet, and a pinch of kulunji - all ground in a grinder. I take four or five scoops of Greek yogurt in a bowl and pour the powdered nuts over it. Absolutely delicious.

I was always told that walnuts are the food for brains, because if you look at a walnut it's virtually shaped like the human brain! I believe other foods like dark chocolate and fish is good for the brain, don't know if it is scientifically proven but that's what I read some time ago in health books.

I've recently read this nutrition article regarding improving brain activity. As described, glucose found in complex carbohydrates (brown rice, fruits & vegetables, oats) develops concentration & memory. Next on the list is egg yolk which also promotes memory, aside from being a great source of protein. Coffee speeds up reaction, and is also associated with lower risk of Alzheimer's disease. Health experts also noted that the main cause of memory loss is dehydration; thus, water is an essential nutrient which one should have plenty of in the body. If my memory serves me right, walnuts are also great for nourishment of the brain.

But are all these food a temporary / short term effect on the brain? For example, does drinking coffee regularly slowly improve your reaction or does it only improve your reaction right after you drank it and the effect will disappear after awhile?

Food power - Food for the brain
According to health specialist..Salmon,eggs,almond or nuts and even caffeine can boost the brain power. Salmon---healthy fats found in salmon are the same fats found in your brain. These omega-3 fatty acids are believed to be critical to the proper development and functioning of your brain. Egg--- Whole eggs are not only high in protein, and low in calories, but they are also rich in Vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids and B vitamins. B vitamins may help prevent inflammation and aid in the new brain cell development. Like fatty fish, almond--- are high in omega-3 fatty acids, but they are also rich in antioxidants, including vitamin E. Caffeine’s--- stimulating effect increases activity in the brain, blocking the development of proteins associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer’s. Both coffee and green teas are also rich in antioxidants. I believe food can improved our brain power because when we are lack of nutrients our brain doesn't functioning well. I might missed some of those food stated above I used some supplement in replacement of the following food I missed to take daily. Happy myLotting!

Nice i am happy to hear that salmon is such a wonderful food with many benefits as i love eating it and i heard that salmon is also beneficial to your health. So i guess this is the best you can get, boosting health and brain at same time. I rarely eat almond but i guess will try it out some times. As for antioxidants, i have another source for it which is green tea :) my favorite drink

I think so- some people believe that. My mom said(based on what she also heard) that some food can enhance certain parts of your body if it is shaped like so..like a peanut can make you smarter or enhance brain capacity or focus..
