I currently have a chance to earn extra cash online and I'm just wondering what you guys think is the best internet provider in Philippines, in terms of speed and customer service. I currently have a Smart Bro Share It account but I'm thinking of switching to other networks since I've been having a lot of problems with it lately. But, before I do so I want to know your opinion. Which do you think is the best among the rest, guys?

My brother is using Sun on his tablet. The connection is pretty decent. He even brought it to Malaysia (he opted for a roaming plan) when he was transferred there. So far, he didn't have any complaints.

hello, i have a review of the PLDT one, Bayantel and we are using Globe right now. i would suggest you to use the latter... better than the two mentioned. if you have time... you can even read our horrible experience with PLDT - and we haven't refunded our money yet... they never even checked with us! such a lousy company.
not a referral link... http://kiamoydiary.blogspot.com/search/label/Internet

We are at quezon city. We were surprised ourselves because there is a Bayan tel line in our place... and we also have globe now in our place... and we are at a commercial area so it is not likely that there is NO like... i think PLDT just sucks big time. my friend is using smart bro and is at war with them right now.. they kept on billing her and they still have no access to internet and they stay in Pasay.

Well, it's no wonder SMART and PLDT are sister companies. . But I believe SMART is way better than PLDT, in terms of customer service.
Actually, I visited PLDT's office this morning. The rumors were actually true. PLDT's customer service couldn't get any worse. I was inquiring about the specs of their different internet plans, but their customer representative doesn't seem to care. She just explained to me the basic myDSL plan and "shooed" me away after she's done. Then, it dawned to me that if I have to deal with this kind of treatment if ever I'll be having problems with their service, why sign up in the first place?

Whoa! What a nuisance that would have been! If you don't mind me asking, where's your location? That way I could avoid that from happening to me if we're in the same location.

Actually i'm using SB share it too. I'm more comfortable using it since I cant bring it anywhere and just to plug it when I'm in my friends house. I consider to apply for PLDT too but there are still processing some new line here in my area. try to investigate who are the users of internet in your place and try to compare it with the others so you can choose what ever have the good signal. There are places with different signals. Like me here in my are globe and sun are not that good. But in my me friends house smart is not good.

The quality of the connection is always based on the location, I guess. Thanks for the info, I'm currently on the process of applying PLDT.

This discussion will be a big help to me. We are planning to have internet connection at home so that we will be able to work online when we arrived from our work.
I guess some of your respondents are really right, we must not rely mainly on the reviews of other internet users regarding the provider they are using but we must consider our location and what will be the best in our are. For now, I saw most houses in our village has the smart bro canopy type. Fo we opted to have that one too.

Good luck with the smart bro, sir. But by the looks of it, I don't think you won't have any problems with your connection since everyone in your neighborhood seems to trust SMART. But, who knows, maybe they're just waiting for the lock up period to end. I would highly suggest that you ask them personally about their experience with Smart Bro, since once you sign up there's a two year lock up period.

You are right, I must ask our neighbors if theya re satisfied with the services and connection of the Smart Bro. I guess there are also some using Globe Broadband. I might also ask their experience about this matter.
You might be right, they are just waiting to finish their contract.
When it coes to service, it is good since our office uses Smart Bro too.

Nothing beats the consistency of PLDT. Its better for you to apply for a DSL since its consistent and doesn't fluctuate. I work at home and needs a strong and stable internet connection. I suggest check out PLDT DSL since this will be your best bet for the Best Internet Company/connection in our country.

Actually, PLDT was my first bet. But, I've been hearing rumors about their bad customer service. About the connection, I'll take your word for it. By the way, what's the speed of PLDT MyDSL?
@freymind (1351)

Well all the rumors about their customer service is true. But so far so good regarding our connection. The speed of our DSL right now is 1MBPS. This is okay for us right now since most of the work we are doing are web research but we will upgrade to 3MBPS when we move to our new house for faster connection.

One mpbs is good enough. I think I'll go with PLDT then. Thanks for the badly needed info.

PLDT is the leading internet provider and you can rarely encounter trouble with it. It is best recommended on desktop computers. If you have laptop computers, you can do nothing but have USB modem for broadband internet, portable WiFi, your phone as modem, or even just going to WiFi spots. Broadband Sticks are good depending on areas where you are in. I use Globe Tattoo and I don't have problem about it. It doesn't interrupt my online works such as uploads, downloads, browsing, online gaming, etc. The best thing you do before purchasing it is to determine which network works good in your area and the areas you wished to be. If you could afford to buy different Doongle, it would be great too. In that case, you could use another one when the other doesn't work good at all.

The problem with wifi connection is the more people are connected to it, the slower the connection. I'm thinking of using a PLDT plan on my laptop since I don't usually bring it outside the comfort of my own home. I think I'll just keep my smart bro account as a back up connection.

There are already pocket WiFi sold nowadays and I know that SMART Telecom have it. But PLDT is still best for you.

I have been using smart bro for my house internet connection since I have no choice. No landline still in our area. The smart bro I have for the house connection is the fixed antenna type. I
guess its better than globe since our neighbor switch to smart upon comparing it from ours. I also have the smart bro plug in type and its actually good in some places. I actually travel a lot that is why I also have the plug it so I can connect to the net wherever I may be. But what actually matters is your location most especially if your using the plug it. If you want somerthingnthst is dependable, then go for pldt dsl.

I had used the usb modem for quite sometime. It could be useful if your travelling but then again if the signal is weak, it's not worth it. Yes, dependability is what i need. So, PLDT it is. Thanks, bro.

I'm currently using BayanDSL as my Internet Service Provider an I am currently satisfied with them. There was one time when we had no internet connection, when I called, the representative said that they will be sending a tech right away. Around 1-2 hours, the tech arrived and fixed the connection. Its amazing that they don't set the wrong expectations, I don't know if others have a nightmarish experience with Bayan but its good with me so far.

Thanks for bringing this up. Everyone was talking about Smart, PLDT and Globe, but nobody seems to mention about Bayantel and Sun. It's good to hear that you're a satisfied BayanDSL client. I'll check them out if have the chance.

I am using Globe broadband and no complains about it regarding to the speed and signal so far. I guess it depends on the signal of the network provider in your place.

Smart, Globe and PLDT are all the same with the kind of services they provide but the speed of your internet connection will depend upon your location if the signal is strong without any interferences. I have tried all three providers here in the province of Cavite but the signal is not as good as in Metro Manila. I am using Smart Broadband right now and it seems fine and the customer support is very reliable in providing assistance. We used have the Globe connection but something wrong happened with their bay station in our area. The problem with PLDT is the customer service. The best way to know what network provider works excellently in your place is to ask the neighbors who have the internet connections. Their personal experiences will be your guide on what provider to use.

Yes, location is a good basis for choosing the best ISP. It perfectly fits the shoe for wireless internet, but does it apply to cable internet? I'm currently using Smart Share It, but I'm actually pissed off when it suddenly disconnect all of a sudden. Or sometimes the connection is very slow. I have long thought of switching to PLDT, and now I have made up my mind thanks to you guys. Most of the internet cafes around here is using PLDT. So, I might as well use it too.

What are you talking about, renzonation? Smart and pldt, I know for one, are sister companies. But wimax? Doesn't make any sense at all. If you're trying to sound sarcastic, I get it - majority of the ISPs over the country always fail to deliver their promised connection speed.
