Hello there everybody, I have a question regarding of applying jobs. Well, I applied to Sykes last week for a TSR position. Luckily, I passed their initial interview but they provide me a prehire training for enhancing my skills because the tone of my accent is always repeating they said. They gave me a schedule and the place where the training will start. But I haven't attend their training because my schoolmate invited me to a company where she will apply also. Unfortunately I didn't passed there because I haven't meet their standards. Is it acceptable if I comeback for the rehire training they gave me? I'm just having a plan of coming back to the company I first applied. I hope I'm still welcome there.

You should have let Sykes know that you were not able to attend the pre-hire training and arranged with them another suitable date. If you have done that, then you could have the best of both worlds. As you had passed their initial interview, it means that you were partly accepted. But if you did not attend the training with no notice, they may have the impression that you did not act in a responsible way. They may have doubts on your characters. But there is no harm to ask again.

Hi jkct02, I haven't told them that I'm unable to attend the pre-hire training in that day because I know that if I said to them that I grabbed the opportunity to other company, they might not give me another chance to take the pre-hire training. :(

Of course you could not tell them that you were going to another job interview as the reason for your absence. But you could just tell them that you were 'occupied' on that day and that you wished to have an alternative date for your pre-hire training.
You see, you were giving up the chance to work for them, and of course, even if you did ask for a change, they would not have changed their pre-hire training date for you as the training was for a batch of workers, not just for you. But by telling them your unavailability on that day, it reserved the chance for you to re-apply again, if ever you need to, like now.
But don't worry about what has passed. Just re-apply again and tell them that you were not feeling well as the reason for your absence last time. If they need man power, they will always take in qualified workers. Good luck! :)

a pleasant day to you,
honestly speaking, it is still fine. although, you should tell them a valid reason why you were not able to attend to their needs regarding the prehire training. hence, thru this way, they can somehow seen that you are still interested to do and accept the role being a TSR.

I guess he can't say that its because he went to another company for an interview. lols. Any realistic reason can do. But chance of getting another schedule is slim if you ask me. Because having a retraining is not a privilege but an opportunity.

@airasheila, Hello, thanks for your advice. but bulastika was right. I can't easily say that I go to the other company because of my schoolmate invited me to that company. But I'm still hoping that they will still give me a chance to work with them.

To be honest I really don't understand why you still need to apply to a new company since you are in training in Sykes. I mean you already half way in Sykes while the one that you going to apply you going to start from the scratch.
I think you need to call sykes for the reschedule of your training if its still okay.

I just try to apply to a new company because my schoolmate said that it have a good salary but I didn't know that my standard is not enough for them to hire me in their company. Yes I will do a call for Sykes and make a reschedule for my training. Thank you.

Let's just hope the position you applied for is still open. I guess there's no problem if you come back but of course you must give a valid reason why you were not able to attend the said training. Since you have already passed their initial interview I think you have more chances to be hired if you have pass the training, so go for it my friend.

Hi stanley777, yes, the position that I applied there is still open. TSR/CSR positions are always available in Sykes because they are in need of employee applying for a voice position than non-voice position. Thank you so much for a kind response you give me sir.
