Answering to old discussions?

I don't think it's against the guidelines, so it's okay... But you might want to check if the Original Poster is still active or not; otherwise you may not get a comment back. In discussion forum such as this, it's always good to keep 'conversation' going. If the topic is interesting enough, I'd encourage you to do so; even if the OP is inactive, other active members might comment back once they see the old discussion back to 'recent' again...

Thank you for posting this. I have responded to a few old discussions, and I've seen some other really older ones to which I wanted to respond, but wondered about the etiquette here. Thanks to you, I have read responses to your discussion that helps me feel better about responding to older discussions. :)

You know there are times where I see a discussion off to the side and see how interesting it is, and really decide to respond to it. And then after I respond, it hits me that topic was four years ago, five years ago, or whatever. Really to me, I respond to the topic and really just move onto the next interesting topic. There's a pretty good chance that the person that started the topic has long since forgotten about this website years ago. If you feel like you can add something to the topic, then it really does not matter. I'm sure as you dig through this website, there are many good topics that have gotten a few or even none responses right there. It just really shows you that even good topics just die in oblivion. There have been times where I have found some decent topics. Plus it doesn't get brought to the front like other forums, so its fine.

It is ok i think. It is old (based on the date that it is posted) but the topic is still new to you and you are interested with it. Sometime i do like it also when i just go for reading and reading..and i post my comment when it is attractive to me.

I usually respond to the old discussions. In fact, I think the old discussions are much more interesting than the new ones. So I respond to old discussions more than the new ones.

Yep velhee you can do that ,only the message will be updated and willing members may respond and others will simply ignore it.but its really hard to dig the old discussions so people are more comfortable responding to the recent ones.

You can get pay by making posts. If you take part in the old discussion, you can also get pay from your post, but in most case, you will not have responses. If you take part in a new or hot discussion, the starter may response you and share ideas with you.

Greetings and welcome here. You can answer to any discussion you want as long as it isn't against the guidelines cause if it is against the guidelines then the discussion would probably get deleted and you won't get credited too for your response.

Whenever I cannot find interesting topic from new,or my from my friend's discussion. I do scan to old ones. There is nothing responding to old topics and yes, read the responses first so you won't end up saying/writing the same thing. Although we cannot avoid writing same idea/thoughts/opinion- still it is better you try to read some responses.

I see nothing wrog with answering older discussions. We are here to participate. what better way is there than to bring some new life to old views? It can actually spark new interest in some of these long ago discussions.

Never matter, how much old is the discussion. If the discussion has not violated any mylot rules, then it will stay active.. so you can respond to even the first discussion in this site also.. Welcome to mylot.. this is not a get rich soon site,So you will get money only for what you type here, quality and quantity of content matters.. So do quality discussion and quality response and earn knowledge and money. Happy mylotting..

Hello, welcome to mylot. Yes, it is okay if you would response to old discussions. It will not annoy us and the notification will just be posted on your profile and to your friends. We are all here to earn and if it's the way for you to earn, then go for it. Don't mind us we will understand because we did the same when we're new her in myLot before. Good Luck and Happy Earning.
