This school vacation I really like cooking, I want to cook and cook better but I really have a problem that really makes me hate chopping onions and really make me not interested to cook anymore. This happened when I cooked on last April 2012, last moth. I chopped onions and I only think that the smell of the onion sticks on my fingertip "it seems like its on my nails" that its just for a short period of time, but days have passed and I noticed that the smell is stacked in there and I cant remove it. Does anyone knows how to remove the onion smell?

Just like the other mylotters suggestion, you can use lemon to remove the smell.
Squeeze lemon to your hands, rub to your fingernails.
You also use lime or vinegar if lemon is not available right that moment.

If the smell bothers you that much maybe you shouldn't cook with onions--you may have an onion sensitivity or allergy. I have discovered that I am allergic to onions (as are many people) and every time I am near one (at other people's homes, or in restaurants) I find that the smell lingers on me, and bothers me, far longer than it would on other people.

I know smell of onion quite irritating. Try to rub tooth paste on your hand not only to get rid of the onion smell but also its minty fresh. Lemon is also good to remove the onion smell but if you dont have lemon you can use vinegar or mouthwash.

Keep the onions in the refrigerator for half an hour, wash them under the tap and then cut them. you eyes will not water and there wont be any stink either.
