Enough with the eating?

So last night I was invited by some friends to try this new offerings by one of the hotels here in Manila. It is a Japanese Restaurant owned by the hotel and they are currently offering eat-all-you-can Japanese food.
Since I am on a diet for the past few months, I am no longer used to eating a lot. But last night was my cheat day, meaning I can whatever I want. So I indulged. But after the dinner, I felt so nauseated because of fullness. I have never ate like that for months and I feel as if I assaulted my entire digestive system. Good thing I was able to compose myself by drinking tea.
But I swear never to eat that way again. I think I will give up my affinity for eat-all-you-can restaurants for a while.
How about you fellow myLotters, have ever had an experience when you decided that you are done eating too much? I would love to know your stories as well

Hi there!
I have not been invited to any such party where there was no limit to eat ...... Lol!
I am not aware in which kind of hotels such parties are held and how they invite the guests.
Even if I go to any such party, I would restrict myself and would not gulp every dish because it is free.
I know excess of everything is bad and so is the case with food.

Hello dpk262006, I got invited through friends otherwise I wouldn't get to attend parties like that I couldn't agree more about having excess of everything including food is really bad. Have a great day!

I really don't like to eat too full, i feel so tired after that and sleepy too.
Sometime i was so hungry and i eat so fast..the result is i am too full at lunch time and...i can't do anything after that till evening...and i can eat little in the evening only.
Right now, before eating, i think of too full situation and then i just eat still full enough only ...

Hello ryanong, that's a great tip. I also get too sleepy when I am full especially right after having a big meal. Next time I will try to think of the ugly feeling of being too full before I indulge

Hi Ladyhemingway, I had a dinner two nights ago.
It was also a Japanese restaurant, and offered the same deal of eat all you can.
My friend paid for the meal.
I like Japanese food, since they are healthier than other food.
I like to eat raw fish too.
That night I took a lot of raw fish. I guess the value of the food I ate was double that of the cost of dinner.
I did not eat till I burst, since most of the food I ate was light in calories but healthy.
I took just a little soup, and some iced tea to wash down the food.

Hello scheng1, I love raw fish, during our dinner I ate some raw fish but I was a bit hooked on those fried shrimps and teppanyaki stuff so I got really full. Next time I'll focus on light meal so as to avoid experiencing extreme fullness again

Hello deodavid, I have tried Yakimix before and I must say that they do offer great food. I cannot remember if I over-indulged at that time, what I can remember though is that I swore to start my diet the next day

I am never on a diet but very seldom that I eat on a eat all you can restaurant or place. I only eat a lot when there are celebrations and of course there are lots of food. If I can feel that I am already full, then I will stop eating no matter how many foods are still there in the buffet table. :P

Hello zarasoc, I wish I have the discipline to stop eating when I am already full. It's just too enticing for me whenever I see lots of food

I remember going on diet for four months and then my team from work got a cash prize from a contest and majority of the people wanted to spend the money on food, we went to Dad's restaurant in SM Megamall, the food was amazing but in the end my four months of diet got flushed down the toilet...

Hello stephen_ray_07, I can totally relate with the feeling after indulging on food and totally neglecting the days you have suffered from dieting. It's not a nice feeling I must say. But then again, we can always start again and learn a lesson from one such downfall

We used to hunt every buffet eat-all-you-can offers in our city. There were a lot and each where as enticing as the other. However, because of the weird feeling of being full (nauseated as you explained) I finally realized after a while that it's not really doing any good with my health so I soon decided not to do it anymore.
Though I still get invited to these things, I make sure that I don't eat so much during the day and would only usually take buffets for lunch and I would no longer eat during dinner to help 'digest'.
Further, I scheme through the food and not indulge. I just get portions and not cover my plate full. I guess the constant 'standing up' would at least give me exercise while eating and soon find myself full because of the gap of the eating and the refill.
Yeah, tea is good too.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Hello laydee, I agree that scheming through food and not really indulged can be a good way to avoid too much fullness. Most of the buffet invitation I get are on dinner time, so I am thinking of thinking most of them Have a great day to you!

I love to eat too especially when it comes to foreign cuisines but if I am full, I never attemp to eat more that's why I never get fat. Though I wish to gain more weight but the appetite isn't there anymore.

I wish I have the problem same as yours, but apparently I could only wish to lose more weight My appetite is always hard to time, but I agree with you that stopping from eating when you're already full is a big help. Have a great day!

When we have been used to eating small quantities of food, the digestive system seems to react in a negative way when faced with all the food consumed. I had the same experience as you when I consumed lot of lechon at a company party. I so indulged myself with the lechon but had to suffer from it after a few hours. I have learned my lesson and if ever I am invited to parties or fiestas, I tend to curb my appetite. I only eat little quantities of food not for dieting reasons but because of habit.

Hello yahnee, I did indulged big time during that dinner and just like you, I suffered the consequence after that. But I charge it to experience, next time I wouldn't over eat if I am at a buffet
