I use to write in a journal years ago. I enjoyed it a lot. I'm going to start writing again as I think it would be good for me and it will be something that my daughter can have when she gets older if something ever happens to me. Do you enjoy writing in your journal?

It's the same case with me. I used to maintain my own journal years back, might be two or three years back. Writing a journal used to excite me. It had become more like a hobby of mine. I even started maintaining a journal on the internet in the yahoo. But I even left doing that. I completely agree with you that it is a very nice way of sharing our experiences with others. In fact I think that it is a way of recollecting memories later. :)

Yeah I completely agree with you. Journal writing will become a hobby of mine again. I want to write often like I use to. So much time has came and gone by. I'm hoping that I will be able to keep up with it.

When I was 11 I got my first diary and for about one year I wrote every day, and then I stopped. When I was 13 or 14 I started writing again, but at that time I didn't write everty day, I only wrote every once in a while if something happened and if I was especially sad or happy. After that time there was a long period where I didn't write at all. In 1999 I started writing again, and I still write. In some periods I write every day or almost every day, in other periods I write a few times a month or less, it depends on the things that happen in my life at that time.

I'm glad that throughout the years you have went back to your writing. I hope that with time I will continue to write and keep up with it. Life can keep us pretty busy but I have come to realize that we have to prioritize the things that we enjoy as well.

I don't write in my journal as much as I used to since I started blogging. Once in a while I will pick it up and write something in it that I can't write on my public blog for the whole world to see.
I started journaling as a "resolution" in 2000, and have kept with it ever since, even if it is sporadic.

I'm glad to hear that you keep up with your journaling when you can. It really is a great thing to do. Blogging in itself can be a form of journaling. As we are often expressing our thoughts and feelings.

I'm glad that you began to enjoy writing. It is a nice way to reflect on all that is happening in our life. Sometimes we feel that we are facing all of our problems on our own. When we write about it though, that makes us feel like we are sharing our thoughts and feelings with someone.

I had a diary my aunt and uncle gave me when I was younger but when I started getting repetitive ("I woke up, I ate breakfast, I played outside...") I stopped. Now I mostly keep a bunch of notebooks that have lyrics and poems that I try to write. If I think something up I try to write it as quick as I can in one of them. I enjoy writing in them for the most part, except when I can't think of anything to write!

That's always what I'm worried about as an adult-lol. My life is pretty much the same all the time. Nothing to exciting is going on and so when I start to write again I'm worried that it will always be the same. Oh well I guess it will be nice for my daughter to have if anything ever happens to me.

I used to write journal when I'm in college and I love it because I have something to read back when I'm missing the old days. But things change when I started working, I switched to planner since I need to plot my weekly/monthly activities ahead and I don't have enough time to write ate night since I'm working on a shifting schedule. Anyway, I've enjoyed writing and maybe will start my journal probably on a weekly basis. keep it up!

I completely agree with you.It is nice to have something to go back and read. And we often can find times in our journal where something exciting happened or we were really happy. Hope that your schedule for writing will improve.

I like the idea of having a diary or journal. I have one online, on Xanga, but I haven't gotten around to touching it for at least a few months. I sporadically will go on there, when I have some funny situations or stories or life updates... It's always interesting to look back later and see what was going on in that time of our lives. I just wish I could muster up the motivation to be more consistent with updating it!

Yeah it can be very difficult to keep up with those types of things. As there seems to always be more pressing matters that we have to take care of. I think that it is important that we strive to make time for ourselves doing something that we enjoy at least for two hours a week. I've heard that this is good for us.

Absolutely That's a good habit. It helps me remember what happened and make analysis in writing. And I think twitter is something just like diary but more freely to write

I'm glad that you write. I'm hoping to get started soon. As I haven't wrote in a journal in awhile. I think it will really help me to make a little time for myself doing something that I love that doesn't cost a whole lot.

Hello Dominique25, yes I do enjoy writing on my journal. It gives me a sense of accomplishment every time I am able to complete a year of journal. Just like you, I am planning to keep on writing to my journal so that when the time comes when I have children already, they may be able to read that as well.

Yeah we really do feel good when we are able to write consistently for a length of time. Then we can go back and see all that we have done and the progress we have made. I think that my daughter will enjoy learning about how I viewed things and it will help our relationship as well.

Like you I used to keep a journal (a few different times in my life) and as of late I've been keeping a poetry journal. I think the idea you have about your daughter is a great one and I'm sure she would enjoy knowing your thoughts about life whenever she's older. Good luck with your journaling!

I'm glad that you keep a poetry journal. Poetry is really beautiful and it can help us to look at our life and the things that are happening in it with a positive attitude. I think she will enjoy that as well. Thanks. I hope that you continue to write poetry and enjoy it for years to come.

Sometimes I write on my journal so I would not forget the most memorable journeys of my life. When I feel angry, sad, lonely and other emotions, I will just right on my journal or diary. It is good to write because you can express your feeling. I remember my teacher told me when I was in elementary. If you feel angry, sad and others just write what you wanted to write. After that you can feel relax and okay again.

I'm glad to hear that you write in your journal. I think it is important for us to write down what's important that is happening in our life. Otherwise we can begin to forget the details. It's nice to be able to go back and look at our journal and remember the things that were happening in our life.

I used to write a diary a couple of years back but I am no more doing it. I want to continue it almost every time I see my diaries but I am so short on time now that I cannot do it any more despite my best efforts. I only write very important incidents to keep a record nothing more.

Yeah I understand. As there are so many things that we have to work on and get done. I hope that perhaps sometime in the future you will have more time to write again. I'm glad to hear that you do write down important things that happen so you will remember them. I was listening to some information about women needing to make time for themselves. And it said that it's important that we set aside at least two hours a week to devote a hobby or interest. So I will be working on writing in my journal and scrapbooking. I think this will be great thing. Because as I reflected I don't have much time for myself and so I'm making the way for me to do this.

I have written diary for nearly ten years. Usually I have some unhappy things and bad moods that I don't want to talk to other people. I think that it is a good habit. It is really my good friend.
