Day activities with the Family

Is there a special type of day activity that you enjoy doing with your family? Today we went to the river. Have to be careful due to currents but we really enjoy it and there is one less than 7 miles from the house. We take our water, toys and just relax. It has been great to get away for a little bit and not have the huge expense of going to the beach (another thing we enjoy). So on this Holiday weekend, how do you enjoy your family away from the house? ANy good ideas about cheap getaways that will not break the bank????

I think that the best things in life are the things where you can spend a lot of time with your family but then don't have to spend all that much money in doing so. When the weather is nice, I like to make up a cheap picnic and then go to the park with the family to eat it. If you take a football or a frisbee, this means that you are able to entertain yourselves for the whole of the afternoon without really having to spend any more money than you would have done if you'd just sat at home for the whole of the day.

me and my family got jet skiing and fishing alot during the spring and summer months to get out of the house... we also go down the the reservoir and have picnics or cookouts... go bike riding as a family do anything be creative, i let my kids tell me what they wanna do sometimes, its usually something simple, like icecream or a movie or go to the park..me and my oldest workout and play sports together.....

I enjoy being alone with my parents each time i had several days off at home.We spend time chatting and then go out for some walk,it's like really quiet and i can say out whatever i thought before.There are many interesting places in my hometown and they always bring me there.I really love those moments.
