How do you like to camp?

My husband just purchased a pop camper. We had bought a 3 room tent and only used once. We are going on a week long vacation. This is why he bought the pop up. I would have preferred to use the tent myself as I feel it is more camping than in the pop up. When you go camping how do you camp? RV, camper, tent? What is your favorite thing about camping? Do you like cooking over the fire or by a propane grill?

When I camp I really want to get away from it all, and not see anyone else. I prefer to hike some distance and camp under the stars, or if inclement weather, in a tent that I bring along with me. Likewise, I enjoy using a backpackers stove to prepare my meals.
I enjoy feeling a certain bit of success at finding my way, depending on my wits, enjoying the sounds of nature, and discovering new things along the way. I especially like the feel of the breeze on my somewhat sweaty skin after a long hike. And the taste of water when I'm very thirsty from exertion.

camping with tents and open fire :) it's the only way to go unfortunately, it's getting harder to find camping areas that will allow tents and it's getting harder to sleep on the ground. eventually we'll have to upgrade to a camper of some sort. at least then, i can buy all kind of camping equipment and leave it all in the camper :)
