spain had announced their squad in euro cup 2012
it is surprise for me i think
vicente del bosque seems keep their winning team in world cup 2012 (maybe only joan capdevilla and marchena as part of the winning team in world cup 2012 which can`t play anymore for this squad in this tournament)
no surprised i think..
several new player get chance..but the potential player is not elected in this squad like David De Gea..once again the formation of the goalkeeper is still casillas, victor valdez and pepe reina...if we must be fair, david de gea performance this season is better than reina...David De Gea helps MU for racing with Manchester city in EPL trophy even in the last minute, his team and he are failed get the EPL trophy..
soldado performance is better too than torres i think...
hear the finally spain squad in euro cup 2012
Spain Squad in Euro Cup 2012

I have so much respect for the current Spain team that whoever they selected for their Euro 2012 squad will still be the number one red hot favorite. Admittedly the omission of Soldado is a surprise but I don't feel the fire power upfront is inadequate or less from those that are in the squad.
Torres is a fantastic player. Although he did not have the best of EPL seasons in Chelsea, he actually did not do too badly - his work rate is good - if he can not score, he assists. He runs, he pulls the defenders away. He gets free kicks and corner kicks. I am his fan so I hope he will do well in Euro 2012. With such quality in the Spain midfield, it is very hard for a striker of the quality of Torres to do too badly. Golden boot maybe?

what is PR?? i don`t understand..
he only won World cup...the winner of euro cup 2008 is Luis Aragones if iam not wrong..
so let`s wait and see what about his squad...the forward position of spanish national team worry..
in euro cup 2008, they are confident because had 2 great forward even they only play 1 player but it is effective, Torres..
in world cup 2010, they had 2 good forward, david villa and torres, but only villa become machine goal...
the situation is really different with euro cup 2008 and world cup 2010..Villa get injured and torres come but we must admit that before the decision, he is below his top performance

If I am the Spain manager, I will bring Soldado along to Euro 2012. Just like you say, he is useful to Spain. It is also good for PR and team morale. But I am not a great manager. Del Bosque is. He knows what he is doing. He has won the World Cup and the Euro. So very few people can argue with him and win. Because he will not argue with anyone. He will let the result talk. Better if he can use the Euro Cup to talk.

I think there's not much surprise for Spain squad. For me, Del Bosque seems like playing safe, and I do have faith in him. David de gea might be better than Reina, but he's not stable, and I don't think he has sufficient knowledge & enough experience in international tournament. Casillas is still the best keeper afterall. I would like to see Spain defends the champion once more.

De Gea is a good goalkeeper no doubt. But Spain is embarrassingly rich in that department with so many outstanding keepers to choose from. Whether De Gea performed better than Reina in the EPL is debatable and surely the final positioning of their team should not be a factor in analyzing a player's performance. Anyway, even if De Gea was selected, he is unlikely to get a game in the Euro 2012. Reina and Valdes will not, too, unless when Spain is assured of qualifying to the second round from the first 2 games.

I am not surprised at all about De Gea not getting a chance. After seeing him in the last season, I am not convinced he is in the same class as Casillas or Valdez. I do not think he is even in the same class as Reina. Of course, he did improve as the season went on, but he keeps flapping at high balls into the box from either corners or free-kicks that his defenders would always be under fear.
Soldado though is a surprise for me. I expected him to make the squad given the dodgy form of Torres and injury to David Villa.
Cheers!
Ram

For leaving Soldado out, it shows Vicente Del Bosque is a confident manager. He could have done the politically right thing to include Soldado in the squad instead of a young player to shut out any criticism that may come his way especially if his team did not score a lot of goals in Euro 2012 later. Although I feel the team is still solid enough, I am not sure if the luck is going to be with Spain. Barcelona and Real Madrid did not enjoy that in the UCL.

This Spain team is so talented that they could just play anyway they want. Tiki-taka is just one of the ways they can play but it is the most likely way they will play. They have the players and the skill to adjust their play to conditions on the field. That is the reason I feel they have the edge over the other Euro opponents.
As for clubs conflicts in the national team, it is unlikely at all to happen. Although it is natural that players from the same club will tend to stay in a group, but when comes to playing as a team, which club they are from is not a factor as they are all top professionals. They will do what is told by the manager. If there is anyone who is thoughtlessly involved in some kind of club disputes, then the player concerned should be kicked out of the team as he is not fit to represent the country. Since the manager would not tolerate it, so it will not happen.

In my opinion, both Reina and Valdes should not be in the team ahead of De Gea. Reina just had a torrid season and I never rate Valdes as a world class goalkeeper. I always felt he was made to look good by the Barcelona team and having watched some of the Barcelona game, I am convinced that I was right all along. As for the rest, those that are suppose to be there, they are in the squad, except maybe for Mata.

thats right..
valdez make some fatal and blunder especially in semifinal of champions league..
it reduce his rating as best goalkeeper..
i think de gea deserved to be part of spain squad in euro cup
but it did not happen..
De gea must be patient..he is still young and talented

David de gea is still young and he has the opportunity to play in Brazil 2014, the world cup. It's too early to throw de gea onto the big stage in a big competition like this. After all, victor valdes has always been playing second fiddle to Casillas, even if the coach decides to play someone new, it won't be de gea, it would be victor. Whatever spain's squad is, there's a reason behind it and i believe same players, but their playing style might change somehow.

not a big surprise except, Villa and Puyol can't play in Euro 2012. De Gea had shown very good performance during this season, and Reina was not really good regarding Liverpool performance which really decrease this season. but overall, may be Del Bosque need goalkeeper which has more international experience and ready to play in hard situation. as we know, Reina has more experience than De Gea and this enough to guarantee that he can be good subtitle for Casillas and Valdes. It's seems like Torres will play as the foward player, let's see if his latest performance in Chelsea which score goal and come back on top performance will be effect in Europe 2012.Del Bosque is very lucky because he had many choice, wheter for goalkeeper, defender, midfielder or fowarder. most of them has average quality..

yes of course..who take risk bring the injured player in the biggest tournament..
i think de gea is experienced too redva? he can handle many pressure in MU fans expectations..in the first half of season, his performance is very poor..
but he change after new year and he become one of the best player for MU in the part 2 of the season..
actually i know the quality of Torres..But iam doubt when he can take back his finishing touch very quickly than our hope..It is risk and gambling for Spain..but Vicente del bosque had to...

De Gea is experienced too since he play in big club such as Manchester United, but may be Reina is still better choice for Del Bosque for Europe. I'm doubt too about Torress performance for Spain. I'm not sure he can't play superb like several match he shown in Chelsea, but at least Bosque still have another great forwarder
