i was browsing the pictures we had during our vacation and i saw this picture of my children raking, actually this is the first time they ever raked lol. Since here in the city we do not have backyard, that was the first time they ever hold a rake and raked.
I believe they had a blast doing that lol.. and they were diligently doing it as well!
but i do not know if they will ever feel the same about raking if they had to do it everyday.

Oh yeah...kids are always excited for first time -lols, but won't like it everyday (hehehe)
I remember my kids when they are smaller- toddlers who are curious of all things.
They want to help me with every chores and that was great.
But now that they have grown ups- opss...they act like they don't know anything
and when I start nagging- there they go- start to do things as if nothing happens (duh)
-they wait for my blood to boil first, they love it grrrrrrrrr

ohhh i really know what you mean ms.jai , that happens to me as well and to think my kids are that small! If i tell them to arrange their books or look for their slippers they act as if they have not heard it!

We who lived and grew at the province are lucky to experience those kind of environment, climbing up tress, playing on mad, etc. Kids who are born in the city happened to be so excited to experience this things. Both my kids born in the city as well but when I decided to go here in my province they were so excited to go up in on the hills where we go up when were still young to play and climb tress.

Kids love to help if they do not have to. I am glad you got pictures of the first time they had that experience. No, if they had to do it every day, they would not want to do it at all. You have proof, though, you have pictures.

When I was a child we only liked to rake because we were allowed to jump in the pile of leaves a few times before swooping them up and putting them in orange pumpkin bags for halloween. That is the only time we really enjoyed it. I don't think they would enjoy it unless you allowed them to do the same maybe haha!

It is nice to allow our kids stretch their muscles by doing chores. My little son will always help me out when i cleaning the room. He will get the broom stick or hand me what I need. This will give them a sense of responsibility and independence. When I was kid, we have assigned area at home. I do the house cleaning from the removal of cob webs, dust from the window and furniture, and waxing the floor. These helped me a lot while growing.

How i wish i could get my kids to do those stuff without asking them to.. they do not like to be commanded at all.

I am sure it will not be the same as to like it was then. I know my children are little and they love to rake. I know that is now and later they will not think that it is fun. It is like when kids are little they love to help you as to when they get older and are told to do something it is different and I guess not as fun anymore. They also love to rake the leaves into biles and jump into them lol. I can remember even when i was young many many many years ago and loved jumping in the leaves.

Of course they won't! We've been there, we've done that. As a child I would spend time with our laundry woman and helped her wash our clothes and linens. My mom told her to let me help but just redo what I did. But hey, I didn't wanna do it all the time. I don't even like doing the laundry anymore lol!
