it is just annoying that some workers on some business establishments, when you inquire something that they would act like they are annoyed or talk behind your back. i don't understand why they act like they are offended or something. like when i go to internet cafe i usually go to when i need to access online when i was outside. it is just annoying that the cashier there can act disrespectful at times. and not only on that place. it just happens anywhere although there are some also that are so nice and friendly and warm and also.

Yes I know how it feels to be treated like that, based on my experience the male employees are more friendly than the female employees, I dont understand why would she treat me like that, she was looking at me from my hair until my toe as if something wrong with me or the dress I wear. I have this experience not only 1x but more than twice, I went to a shop which selling craft supplies but the sales girl who supposed to help me did not treat me nicely, I tried to smile and be polite with her but seemed she did not like me, I dont think I knew this girl but wonder what was her problem with me. I thought she might have a bad day, so she was not in the mood to treat the customer nicely. Next day I went to the shop again, had different sales girl to serve me but i got the same experience. So I went to another store, again they treated me so not nicely. I thought maybe something wrong with me, maybe people think Im such an arrogant person but I always smile and ask in polite words, but I got different treatment when the sales person is guy or old lady(probably the owner). So right now i found another store which has better collections of craft supplies and has better sales person, most of the workers who works in this shop are part time students, they treat me nicely and I like to shop there.

Ya, in fact, there are many people who act like that. It is really sad...
For sure, we feel uncomfortable with their action, but it is not easy to make them change their behavior also. Better we should ignore all of them and forget their action if we meet them...

People tend to mirror the way they've been treated, but often it is to the wrong person. A customer being rude is usually because they've had a bad day, or had a bad experience with service there before. And a employee being rude is likely the same. Bad day, or bad experience with customers. I think it's important not to let it get to you. No matter how they are smile, be polite and nice. Once they see this they'll change their attitudes. But sometimes people are just mean. Avoid them.

I can totally relate. Well I guess a lot of people out there have encountered such. In my own opinion, they are the type who want to move up the wrong way. Maybe their insecurities are eating them up. It is just sad that whatever it is that's causing them to act that way is'nt doing them any good. Rather, destroying a work relationship which should've been considered as our second home.

I've worked as a retail manager for years
and, not only to I treat the customers nice and with respect but I demand that those under my supervision do too
yes, some customers can really "fry" me but I still have to be nice
and I HATE it when I go into a different store and the sales people are lazy and just plain rude!
I truly think everyone should treat others with respect and kindness
if we all did that wouldn't the world be a nicer place?

I hate it when cashiers and salesladies also are being so unapproachable! It ruins my day. My husband would scold me and say, "Try to understand them, they aren't paid enough (due to low rate salary) that's why their services is not good. And maybe they want to do some thing else but are stuck up in this low-paying department store/internet cafe.
Still, they should watch their manners. Right?

I work a retail job, and how I treat my customers is determined 100% by how they treat me. If they treat me with respect the get the best I have to offer. If they are rude, demanding, or condescending then they get worse service.
I know that I should treat everyone great no matter what, but quite franky I've gotten tired of being called stupid, lazy, or even worse (racial slurs and vulgarity) by customers who think its okay to verbally abuse me and get away with it.
