I used to do zumba at our ymca in town, and I lost 20 lbs. But I had to stop going because it was just too expensive trying to drive so far to the gym and the gym fees. So I got the zumba fitness one wii for mothers day and it is great. Has anyone tried zumba? How much wieght have you lost? What is your diet like while you are doing zumba?

I love doing Zumba, but I agree with you it got far too expensive when I was paying for the classes, as I liked to go there every week and I was finding that I was just not able to afford the amount of money that I was having to pay anymore. So I chose to stop going and also buy the Wii version. I don't think it is as good as doing it in a proper class, but because of the fact that it is a lot cheaper, I am more than willing to let that go and just enjoy the version that I can. It is good fun when I have my friends round as well, as we are all able to play together on it.

Hiya SR.,
Zumba I have seen that on the Television it seems to be great fun of course you have to follow some sort of diet.
The only thing I do is not to mix eating bread with rice and pasta and cut down the potatoes too.
I up the tomatoes but I don´t lose that tummy right away it takes a month or two without too much effort for it to start to go down again.
A c/section left me quite a bad scar so even if I got the weight right down it will never be the same and you can´t overdo it either can you there has to be a bit of moderation.
I would say I lose about 5Ibs it´s not much but it´s enough and I benefit from following the calorie counter on the packets of bread and biscuits as they are supposed to tell you now exactly how much you are eating.
Zumba seems to be great to me on the whole I keep watching the adverts about it at the moment and it seems a lot of people have lost weight with it but I guess you have to keep working at it after too.
How are you doing now then are the zumba Dvds different to the zumba they teach in classes then?
You have done well too to lose 20 lbs.
Sorry I can´t be of more help to you.xxx

I tried it and promptly gave up. I had no problem when the instructor was showing the steps but I couldn't keep up during the music and felt awkward and stupid. I'll stick to walking.
