My son and i were watching the impeachment trial this afternoon, yes he watches it too. I cuddled next to him in the couch and asked him to give me a kiss. He was concentrating on the trial and didn't want to be disturbed so he didn't give that kiss. I told him I just want to take advantage of kissing him all the time and getting a lot of kisses from him too because when he grows older he won't kiss me anymore.
Then he said why wouldn't he don that in the future, i'm his mom and he would continue kissing me. I explained to him why he wouldn't do that anymore and he told me that i'm wrong. He would still kiss me but just not in public!
Well i wish he could keep that and still do what he said when he reaches the age of 13.
How's your relationship with your son?

Well, maybe I should not even answer this question, because I have no family, nor either children. But I still have Mom and Dad! I can guarantee, however, that although I am the beauty of 37 years just passed, occasionally hug and kiss my mom, like my dear mother and I were still a small child!
I must say that the reaction of my mother, when things exceed, she said "by Alessandro, you have almost 40 years, quit a bit."
But mine just want to be a demonstration of affection that I bring to my loved ones.

Oh you shouldn't stop that. It's a lovely way of showing affection and i wouldn't mind my son kissing me when he reaches that age too. I would dearly appreciate it. Thanks for sharing me your story.

What your son told you might be a vague promise. When he was still young, he might still clinching to you, and won't let you out of his sight. But when he is growing older, and he has more and more friends from school, he might become might independent. You know how that works peer influence, by that time, he might not want you to be around or watching him all the time. So, if he still want to kiss you, you are still the favorite person of his life. If that is not, he might get a girlfriend already.

That's exactly why I told him I'm taking advantage of it now.

That is so sweet. I am still single though, no kid son my own. But my brothers (some are married) and sister still do kiss our mom and dad even in public. We really don't mind. We kiss them everytime we take our leave or during mass "peace be with you". It has been practiced ever since we were young so I guess we managed to do the same now. I know the habit won't stop in our generation. It will definitely pass on! :-) When your son grows older, hope he stays the same: sweet! :D

your kid is sweet. i have a daughter and she calls me by my first name. some people find it very irrespectful, but i think it's a way of making me her bestfriend. we fight alot, but we also laugh alot. she treats me like a friend. share her stories and secrets. and i like it better than calling me mom and ignores me all the time.
