When I was a little boy, I have developed an interest to try the odd food. I saw people shot sparrows and barbecued them, so I also tried to got the taste, and it was delicious.
When my mum was cooking river eel for family, I was wondering earth worm and river eel looks similar just different in size, why do not I put it in the wok to boil with river eel together, I used pencil cut to cut the earth worm and clean the inside of it, and boiled it. However, I have admit that it has no taste.
Ten years ago, I went to Trinidad, Caribbean for a construction company, the local work brought us an iguana to eat, however, the boss asked me to move to another construction site for temporary work. I just missed the chance to eat it.
Two year later after missing out the opportunity to eat iguana, the chance finally came, I saw a iguana laid down in the road, and it was not moving, since I did not see it couple of hour ago. I assumed it was freshly dead maybe by car accident. So I wish to enjoy the meal. Oops, I got no experience to cook it, so I made a phone call to Mr. Thomas's mother-in-law, she did not know how to cook it too. So I just grab the iguana in my hand and studied it very carfullt, I then suddenly found a a$$ hole, and I took scissors to dig in the hole and cut along the center belly line, it peeled off like a rain coat. I put some oliver oil,soy source, monosodium glutamate, sugar, liquor and use the spatula to fry it in the wok. I devoured what I have cooked. It is very delicious even finally I went to toilets several times after eating due to some discomfort in my belly, but I feel the taste is worth it.
The last story happened last year, when I watched TV with my baby boy, suddenly a strange noise poped on the air con. I saw there was an insect, it looked scary to my baby boy, so I used the insectcide to kill it. Is it a locust? I googled it, the answer is positive. Why not eat the locust, I used tap water to rinse off the insectcide , and fry it with soybean oil, my little boy is too scare to try, so I left it for myself to enjoy. It tasted like shrimps. I told my little boy I ate the locust and the next day after I wake up I will turn into a locust man just like Peter Parker was biten by a spider then he turned in to a spider man. My little boy got so scared, it is really a funny experience.
Have you ever tried odd food? What is your attitude towards odd food? Please let us know.

The nearest thing I have tried to eating odd foods is the egg of a duck. In our country, it is called "balut". I guess a lot of foreign people have tried it, too, if they have visited our place already. Aside from this, I have also eaten a grilled bird when I was younger.
But regarding eels, earthworm, or a locust, only thinking of them makes my tongue watery and I feel I'm gonna throw up. I guess I'm not as experimental as you are.

i started eating balut in my early 20's. my adventurous boyfriend convinced me to since this could bought anywhere or along the streets. i loved it and ever since then, balut is our favorite snack.
i have tried eels, it tastes good, i love see food by the way. but locust... it's an insect. it may taste good but it's not a human food.

Duck eggs are a common food in China. The duck eggs was buried with salty muds in a container for 10-20 days, until the eggs got salty, the yore would get a oily golden color, people serve this kind of eggs with porridge as breakfast. It tastes wonderful.
As for locust, it was a recommended food in the Old Testament of Bible.

I ate kangaroo once. That is considered odd in my country. Most people stick to pork, beef or chicken. It was my ex-boyfriend who cooked a kangaroo dish for us, and I was pretty curious about the taste, because I had never had kangaroo before and I didn't know anyone who had eaten it either. The dish was delicious. I am going to visit Asia soon and I look forward to trying some of the food that isn't available in my own country. I am not sure exactly which dishes I am going to try, but I am quite adventurous when it comes to food. I might not like everything, but I would like to taste the different kinds of food at least once.

I can not imagine how should the kangaroo taste like? I am sure you are a lucky person. I also ate shark before, I suppose it must be a common food for people lives in an island. Last time in early May this year, I entertained two Danish friends in Tianjin, I let them eat day lily, they are quite surprised:"you are even eating flowers too."

I haven't tried really odd foods i guess compared to others - and i am not very likable to trying out things, so i guess what may already be odd to me will just be simple to others... i think it is odd food that i tried, pigs brain.. in an egg omelet...

Well, I am quite conservative when it comes to eating things. So, not much experimentation for me.

Every country has its own unique and bizarre cuisines, here in my place, we also cater a lot of exotic foods but I don’t try them. Not that I discourage myself for such food, it’s just that I am not used to eat such kind. Therefore, I rather watch those local folks over my country eat those foods which are staple food in their vicinity. But as for me, I am pleased with eating my meals rather than eating a cuisine that I am not familiar with.
