Remastered version of Doom 3 is coming to PS3 and xbox360 soon. It will contain old expansion pack and the brand new levels. Also the flashlight will be mounted on the armor so you don't have to switch it every time you have to shoot something. I hope it's only optional feature since I think that the fact that you couldn't hold the light and shoot at the same time made the original scary. But here's the interesting part. The "new" Doom will have support for 3D TVs and head mounted VR displays. here you can watch the video demonstration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vIkrQK60N-4 At first I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this virtual boy like looking device, but it actually seems pretty awesome. Mind the device is just the prototype and the final version will be much smaller and look better. Usual 3D glasses look pathetic in comparison. With this you can only see the game as you're seeing it through your eyes and it even tracks your head movement. I guess this is as immersive as it gets for the games right now. It's perfect for the first person shooters and it would be a little less amusing for the other genres or watching movies. What do you think about it? Will this be the future of gaming or do you think it won't stick and nobody would ever buy it? And would you even want to play like that?

This actually sounds very interesting. I used to enjoy playing Doom way back in the day. I agree with you that the prior use of the flashlight made the original scary, but I imagine the new game will have features that make it scary as well. Perhaps the battery will not last long on the flashlight and will have to be re-energized? Something like that. I think that this will be the future of gaming. I imagine first person shooters will be merged with controls like the Kenetic, or something similar, and control sticks and the like will become obsolete. I especially think that the 3D effect is cool.

Still when it comes to FPS games, nothing beats the keyboard-mouse combo.

Maybe not at present. But who knows what the future holds? Wait 'til hologram television becomes the norm.

Hello friend! I am big fan of gaming but I only play computer games and I have tried Doom on my PC.I really enjoyed the game. But the higher versions I couldn't try because of the technical shortcomings. But the video is awesome and I am really looking forward to try this once. And you are right this is the future of the gaming world.

Yeah my PC can also barely run Doom 3 on minimum details. It's about time to upgrade but I have no money:(
