Here lately I have been thinking about spirituality. One of the things that I have been thinking about is, is there a difference between being a spiritual leader and a spiritualist. I personally I think that there is a difference between the two.
For one thing Spiritual Leaders try to get people to follow there particular spiritual beliefs. Often times when This happens things like churches or other sanctuaries are started . When the people gather they study only one common belief. As usually when they come across someone who does not accept there beliefs they shew them away quickly.
Now when it comes to one who is a spiritualist they are different. Often times when I see someone who is a spiritualist they more have the tendency to try and get everyone to understand and accept all forms of spirituality.
As well a spiritualist will not try to get people to join a church or some other kind of sanctuary.
So what do all of you guys think? Is there anyone here who agrees with me.

hiya nerein!
i'll try my best to not be so serious here, and hopefully not offend anyone while trying to have fun...
like someone who rides a bicycle is a cyclist, and someone who races is a racist, a spiritualist is someone who loves to have spirits
a spiritual leader is someone who leads spirits around... eg; "the spiritual leader led the spirits around the neighborhood last Halloween"

Although at first I was like, that makes no sense to what the OP asked, after I thought about it for a minute I couldn't help but to laugh. I've had a really bad day, so thanks for making me laugh. :)

I agree with you, but in some ways the word religious leader fits your definition better at least in my mind. It's mostly the leaders of particular religions that go out of their way to try to convert people to their 'one true path'. That's why I say I'm spiritual not religious, because I do not follow any one doctrine, and while I try not to speak badly of any of them, there is a reason I do not follow many religious doctrines, and in simple terms, I simply do not agree with them. But I do agree with you - I have friends from many different religions, and spiritual walks of life, for the most part I've never argued or fought with any of them over it, with the rare exception that one of the religious ones tries to convert me. Although I have met those who would call them self spiritual, and not even a spiritual or religious , that have tried to get me to change the way I see the world through my spirituality. So I think when it comes down to it, it depends on the person, and maybe the path they follow more than the actual label.
