I am aggravated with this unwanted phone calls that we always received. It is very disturbing and annoying. Imagine? I have to run from the other end of the house to where the phone was, every time the phone rings, only to find out the call is unwanted. It pissed me off.. What about you? what did you do with this?

Telemarketers drive me nuts. I realize they are just doing their job... but I hate being awoken in the morning by a ringing phone (I work a late-night job so I don't keep "normal" business hours) and I don't like when my phone rings after 9PM. I always assume something's wrong LOL I generally never answer my phone, to be honest... I screen every call. If it's someone I wish to speak to, I pick up and I apologize for not having answered before the machine. If someone leaves a message, I always call back promptly. However, if they just hang up, it means I avoided another telemarketer or sales person. In the summer, it's the lawn care companies or the doors and windows people wanting business. In the winter, it's surveys, snow removal, etc. If I am interested in any of these services, I will look into it on my own. I've never yet purchased anything or accepted any "free offers" from a random caller.

That's what am doing too, I will read the screen if the number is from somebody I know or if the caller is listed in our phone list. But running from one place to another just to find out the call is unwanted, is a disappointment. I know that telemarketers are just doing their job but it's sooooo annoying.

My daughter worked in a call center for about two weeks... she couldn't stand it. She said there was a policy not to call anyone's home after 8PM but they were regularly told to do it anyway. She didn't like that she knew she was bothering people -- her job was to do surveys and they were REALLY long. She finally left the position to do something else.

I used to get them. I stoped answering them though. You can tell them not to call you anymore and then they cant call you anymore or they will get in trouble. But they have to stop calling you if you get to tell them that. You can also get on the do not call list. Here is a link that I found: www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx I wish you luck with this. It also tells you how to file a complaint against the caller. ~C~
