I LOOOVE My Phone Plan!

Recently, I changed my phone plan to Consummable Plan 500. So, whether I call or text, it's only when I've consummed 500 pesos (around 12 USD) of call and text will I be charged extra. I used to have the old plan where at Plan 500, I get 500 worth of text and 20 minutes call. But then, I usually pay a lot of extra because either I use more than 20 minutes call, or when I use the internet in my phone. In the consummable plan, internet access is included in the plan. In the old one, it was an add-on charge.
What's your phone plan? Do you prefer pre-paid or post-paid. For those from other countries, how does the phone billing system work in your place?

I like post-paid! However, I can't control the fees of it. So, I still use pre-paid now. I don't use phone much. So, I don't have any plan for it.

That's right. Post-paid is really the one for me because I use my phone regularly. And I need to be assured that I could use my phone anytime. When I was on prepaid, there were times I got frustrated because I could not use the phone because I forgot to load up. But that's not the case now, so it's post paid for me.

Yes, you need to be able to control your self when you're postpaid. But, I have learned that so it's okay. Lucky for you becaues you don't use your phone much. Prepaid is better for you then.

Post-paid is better than pre-paid if we use phone much. We should calculate our needs to choose one of them.

For the past two months, i was already in a postpaid plan. I was shocked when the first one arrived because my plan is only for 299 - Globe. But there was a one time fee of 400 plus but they waived that.
Now on my second billing, my usage was within the plan as it enumerated. Though i was dismayed that there was a Monthly recurring fee.
I will definitely ask them to clarify when i pay on Sunday. If it was a mistake it will be okay. If they say that it is so, then this plan is a deceiving one.

Study your bill well. It could be confusing at first and could cause spikes in your blood pressure. If there is a need, you could actually have it explained to you by employees of globe. I've been using postpaid for more than a decade now and I don't think I'll ever go back to prepaid. Were you able to get a free phone (or a discounted phone) at plan 299?

I guess that's just the proportionate amount of your first month, if you got the phone somewhere in the middle of the month. I hope you're not having any problems with your plan now.

Yes, i chose Samsung Champ. They already explained to me last month and told me that that will be paid this month will just be my subscribed plan. And i consumed within my plan but there's this 266, MRF.
On Sunday i shall go to their office to clarify and to pay. I really hope it was just a mistake because it was explained that i will have that only last month since i was new.

Yes, it is interesting how much phone plans change over the yrs. and what will work for one person would be not enough for someone else. Back before I upgraded to my phone I have now, being limited was OK. But I found myself some months almost going over. Now I have unlimited talk, text and Internet unless I am talking to someone who is a Business or land line. So now I never use all the extra alotted but it is nice to know I have them.

Wow, that is so great having unlimited talk, text and internet. I would love that, too, but the plan offering that here is much more expensive than what I have now. And, I doubt if I'll really use so much of my phone so it would be a waste if I pay for that unlimited plan but not get the full benefit of it. It's so nice having all these options now because as you say, what will work for one person would not be enough for someone else.

I have a plan through AT&T... Bill comes out to around $87/month... I get 900 minutes/month which rolls over, unlimited text messages & unlimited calls to any cell phones & any 5 landline phone numbers, and unlimited data... It's not a smart phone but for what I use, it's perfect... I go through somewhere between 2,500 - 3,000 minutes/month... And I still haven't gone over the lotted minutes...

If it's work related then it's worth it. Especially when you get reimbursements or use it for your own business or something like that. I use my phone solely for personal reasons, so I do not pay that much.

Wow, that's huge for me. I don't think I've ever spent more than 50$ in my bills. Smart phones have many features that are advantageous, but, as long as your phone delivers what you need, I guess that's enough.

I also have post paid plans, i have one from sun cellular that is quite cheap for me and very affordable and i get 500 text messages to all network, unli calls and texts to sun which is affordable since my family has sun sim..so it works for me as well I also have one from globe that i use in the office, the sun one is a personal number while the globe one i use for the office - the same plan as yours i think.

Oh, I've been a smart subscriber for the longest time. I think I haven't changed number in 10 years? But, this is the only time I got the consummable plan and I'm happy about it. I got a sun plan for my mom, but she's not too happy about it. It's just 350 but her usage shoots up to more than 1,000. So, I'm thinking of switching her phone to Smart, too. Besides, she no longer needs unli call or text because her unli buddy (my dad) is now gone.

I guess it's just a matter of preference. And sometimes location. Some locations are better for globe, some smart. When I first started using postpaid, it was adivsable to go for smart. But, then I never really let go of it and especially now because I have a huge credit limit.

Nice. I've been wanting to switch to globe because of the Iphone but it's now offered at Smart, so I think I'd stay. Been using the same number for maybe 10 years now!

Yes. That way, people I've met or known 10 years ago could still contact me now. And some people sure do. I guess I'm the kind who gets attached to things. Like my mobile number.

For me, my mother has a contract plan on her primary cellular phone and myself, my little sister and my husband are add-on member of her family plan, so our phones only cost us $10 a month for talk no matter how many minutes of text or how many texts that we send each month. In addition to that, I have an add-on on my line so that I am also able to have unlimited internet on my phone as well for an addition $10 a month. I really feel like I get my money's worth out of my money because my cell phone is the only phone that I have.

That's great. I also like getting my money's worth. Maybe I should also look for that kind of plan as I pay my mom's bill and probably one of these days, my brother's, too.

I have a family plan with my cousin, and he took care of the billing paperwork, and I just keep on paying him $25 per month, that is all. Our plan weren't the desirable ones, and my cousin had told me that he will switch to Verizon wireless next year after the contract term is over. At least we can get an iPhone or something. I hope that will work out fine.

I hope you would be able to work it out. Last year, I was thinking of switching providers, because I had also wanted one that got me an iphone. But, this year, I heard that my current provider is also now giving out IPhones, so I guess there's no need to switch.

I have a contract smart phone through AT&T. I live mine. I use it with our home wifi and never use the data plan. We just moved and I've been eating up the data by watching streaming videos. We get our wifi back up on Friday and then I can wTch all the streaming videos I want. I have up to 1000 texts with my plan. I rarely use it. I love it for internet when I'm away from home. I use the data plan when I'm away from home.

That's cool. I rarely use my data plan now, too, because I discovered my battery gets used up real fast when I net on the phone.

I'm from India. I don't know about that plan. I have 200 free sms everyday and call rate is 1 Paise/second. ( 50 paise = $ 0.01 )
Mine is Pre-paid. There are different plans available in our country too.

I live in Denmark.
I am quite happy with my phone subscription.
I pay about to what equals 25$ pr. month and I am getting 3 hours of talking and I can send 1000 sms' pr. month.
Also do I get 25GB of data in the whole Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden, Norway etc.).
This plan fits me fantastic and the service is really reliable. I never got problems.

That's nice. I guess our charges are almost the same. Although I have half of what you pay so half the service I get. Sometimes I gripe about the service, but I've managed to stay with my subscription for about a decade now. Cool for you to never have had problems with your plan!

Hi friend, good to hear that you changed your phone plan and love it a lot. My phone plan is a normal one and i am enjoying the good benefits with it. I am doing business and calling a lot of persons due to my profession, it is really hard to reduce the usage and high bills, any way i am trying my best to reduce it

That's the hard part when you have a postpaid plan - controlling your usage so that you don't get billed so much. But, I've managed for some years now and especially with this new plan, I'm seeing good results. I use it just for personal reasons and so I think there's no excuse for me for having a huge bill. At least, you use it for work purposes, so your expenses on the bills are pretty much covered.
