I think first you should be thankful that your problem isn't about where to get the next meal, job, home or health. Therefore, there's really no need to think that it's 'troubling'.
Anyhow, I use an iPhone and I think it's great and all but it's on the expensive side of things (not just the phone itself but the constant temptation of purchases). On the other side, my friends have HTC, it's much cheaper but of the same caliber in terms of performance. But they keep on complaining that you can't really use it to its full capacity because the battery runs out too fast. Well, I guess with a lot of features the batteries of these things are the ones paying for it.
Now I think the battery of the iPhone is pretty quick too (thus the need to charge every other day) but I think it still depends on your 'need' not your want.
I surely find the iPhone helps me with my day-to-day life - somehow makes it easier. You see, I teach by profession and I need to have a lot of things to remind me and it just is really handy and all. It's like having a personal assistant.
However, I do have friends too who have phones such as HTC and iPhone who just bought it because it's 'In'. Well, they're just basically using it for Facebook and text nothing more. So I guess they're not really getting much value for their money.
Now back to your question. I think you should find reviews online well. You can compare and such and just buy something that you truly need. As for me, I didn't buy my phone, it's a present, and a wonderful one because as I said earlier, it made my life easier.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

i have both the iphone 4s and the htc evo.. i have to say that the evo burns fast and somethings you cant really look at because of its system. the iphone is way better.. the battery on that last longer and you can see more videos and other things that you cannot on the htc.. and much more apps and fun on the iphone that you cant get on htc.. so yea iphone for me wins..

This really depends on which phone is suitable to your lifestyle. You should also consider the cost, if the other is quite affordable but has the same quality as that of the high-priced mobile phone, then I would settle on the much more affordable.

I just bought my first smart phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy and love it. Most of the new info out is saying most of the new apps are being written for androids. Android is going to be the way to go.

I also prefer Android.
There is many reasons. Some of them are these:
It's more productive, it's more costumizable (I can even make my own version of Android).
Also I think that the iPhone just quickly gets boring, I mean, you can't really change anything design or anything. You're forced to use Apple's design.
I recommend the Samsung Galaxy S3 or S2 (Depending on price ranges. Both of the phones are great)

Since you used the HTC phone and you liked it I would suggest you to buy a new HTC phone thats suits the best for you!Iphone's might be "Unique" but they are also expensive.HTC's on the other hand are affortable for anyone with the same apps and tools that an Iphone has.Not to mention that the quality of HTC is way better in terms of the phone lifetime.I hope you do the right choice!Happy mylotting!
