I have been looking into building latly a completely off the grid natural house has anyone here ever seen on each? Heard much about them or even considered building one? To me this would be my dream living almost completely off the land in an all natural home I could not think of anything better what about you?

I have thought about it and would really enjoy it. But to a point its unrealistic to a point. Not saying Im anti social but I just find people annoying to say the least. I find this area all the people from the city are moving up and some of the things that come out of their mouths. I have always wanted to move up north about 3 -4 hours north away from all the morons from the city.

I have a friend who used to repair computers (well, she still does, but doesn't work for that company any more).
She had a client that had one of those houses that was completely off the grid - solar panels, wind energy, cooked with natural gas from a tank next to the house, passive heat pump - all that stuff...
She said the #1 problem they had with their computer was it getting high/low power and stuff and that was killing it.
Not me, I like lights when I want them, heat when I need it, air conditioning - well, I DO live in TEXAS! when I need it (its a need not a want with my health). Hot water and food kept fresh in the fridge....

It wouldn't bother me if my computer didn't work all the time I hardly ever use the thing as we can't get Internet to it were in live anyways I use my playbook at work for Internet and that's pretty much it I hate school everyone I live somewhere thatbhas it I get sick all the time from the different temperatures. I preferences fresh foods then frozen processed foods that again are so bad for your health all the chemicals that come with store bought food. Light is an easy thing to obtain oil lamps and candles work great no need for hydrogen for them and they give off a much more warming light heating with food is also much warmer then a furnace it helps my joints amazing as it seems to get the cold out of your bones alot easier and water is easy to have when ever you want with a rain water reclaiming system
