Almost 2 year I saw these cute crayon bank in the store and decided to get one for myself, both of my kids, and my husband.
My husband and son took all the money out of theirs before it could even get a quarter full. My daughter still has hers. But now mine is almost full. I promised myself when it got full I would treat myself to something really special. I always wanted a Gucci bag. So maybe I will get one. Or maybe I will put the money towards a nice trip for me and my husband, even though he didn't save his....

Yes Im saving up occasionally and for something special like anniversary and birthday. Weekly I tried to save from our house budget so that when I want to buy some clothes for my husband as a gift even if without occasion I dont need to get money in the bank instead I will get from my personal savings here at home.

At the moment I am saving up for my first property, which I would say was something very special because hopefully that is my first step towards being a "proper" adult (even though I've technically been one for quite some years now). I will be able to afford it within the next year providing that I save up everything that I earn and don't waste any money on things that I just don't need. I think that it is always good to be saving up for something as it helps you to keep your eye on how much you're spending. If you didn't have anything in mind then you would probably not be as careful, and you would waste it on things that you didn't need.

Are these the really big crayon banks or are these sort of small? I'm terrible at saving but when I really want something I do what I can to save. I want to get a laptop so I need to start saving, but there are also needs that I haven't gotten because of the fact that I use it for wants, or for food.

I am saving up for the most important thing. Moving to a new place. I am stuck in the worst apartment of my life with constant noise, littering, damage to my car, ect ... I hate this place. I am disabled and just want peace and quiet with my illness. So this is my dream. To move out of here. But there is nothing available that I can afford. So I just keep looking. Hopefully my dream will come true someday of moving out of this place.

34momma,
Thankyou. I will stay focused. But I am in for a lot of let downs I am afraid because everything around my town is way to expensive for me to afford.

Hubby and I are going to do some traveling this year.
August -Serbian Festival about 20 miles from here, but after a few shots of Sljivovica we won't remember where we live, so we'll need a hotel.
September 6 -Niagara Falls Canadian side, for our anniversary.
December 25 -Toronto for Christmas.
I'm also saving up for a trip to Nashville.

Yes, that's really nice ^^ I've never saved up for anything until i met my current gf. IN the past, i would simply buy whatever i wanted with all i have. If i dun have enough, i would borrow from friends, family.. haha
Ever since i met my gf, i know the importance of savings and so far, most of things we bought, are via savings over weeks to maybe a month. Right now, we have bigger savings plan to keep to as marriage is on the cards for next year, together with our honeymoon to europe. Hopefully by then we would have saved enough, reward ourselves in the best possible way

I have done that before. It's neat to have a goal and to dream about what it will be like to spend some of that cash! My kids and I go for money walks around the neighborhood. We find more loose change on the sidewalks than you can imagine. We put the coins in an empty gallon milk jug. It's not yet 1/2 full. So I can't say we are saving for a special item. But we will come up with something!

I am saving for new living room furniture. I put spare change into it and every once in a while I am able to sneak more into it. I do keep it hidden because I don't want it raided when we are short on funds. I am unsure how long it will take to get the furniture but I feel better about saving for it.

that's the most important thing Shelly... how you feel because you are working towards a goal. Last year my husband and I purchased new furniture for our whole apartment except our bedroom. So I am now putting a something to the side for that myself. jsut keep on dropping it in there. you will be so suprised how quickly it adds up and how much you will have

Very true. I am glad you were fortunate enough to get that much furniture! Good luck with the savings for your bedroom furniture!

Our family hasn't had the opportunity to take a vacation since my son was a baby and my daughter was only four years old. This year they are nine and five years old and though I know that a vacation isn't in the books for this summer, I am trying to do everything that I can to save money so that we will be able to take the kids to Florida next year so that they will have the opportunity to see the ocean and the beach for the first time in their lives.

I really don't like to own an expensive bag because i am lazy to bring bags whenever i go out. I do save money for my traveling only. I love traveling and try to visit one new place in a year.
I hope this year i still can do save enough money for my trip...

For the past 7 months i have been saving a small portion of my salary for something that intended to do in the future. I set my target of 1 year 6 months so i guess there's another 11 months to go before i do it. What i wanted to do is i want to go to Australia and meet up with a guy name Lachlan Elsworth of Traders International. This organization or company teaches people on how to trade gold, oil, currencies all over the world legally. This guy is an expert trader and he provides trading courses for normal people like me. His trading expertise is recognize by people such as Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump. Due to the course being legit and recognize by many people because Lachlan and some of his team of of experts has helpeed a lot of people to understand the real way of trading. So what i wanted to do with the money i've been saving is to go to Australie, learn from Lachlan the art of trading and possibly work with him to set up a branch in South East Asia.

Yes I am trying to save money for something really special. This will be my surprise present for my significant other. It's too sad I have to struggle for it since I earn a little from my present job.

I have two piggy banks where I save money for my vacations. I first got a small one when I went to Aruba and I had to change the coins into bills after a while because it was too little. So now I bought a "mother" piggy bank and it can hold a lot of coins

Hi 34momma, yes im saving my money because I want to take fashion and art courses without asking money from my parents. I want to have my own boutique and art gallery, Im now spending money to buy craft supplies from online stores where I find its cheaper in the online stores (plus free shipping), its 3times cheaper than what it sold on the store in my city, I just ordered 2 sets and would like to resell it here. I always wanted to make my own dress and bags but I know I need to take a class to be a professional dress maker, this is why i want to save my money for my future.
