DO we need test our faith in God? I have read this article on yahoo just now http://ph.news.yahoo.com/pastor-killed-in-rattlesnake-attack-during-church-service.html The pastor died from a rattlesnake bite which he owns, he said to be handling the snake as a test of faith. but i could find the right logic in this as why he would handle a wild reptile known to be really venomous. He said he handle those to test BUT WHY?? if he have FAITH why does he have to test it? I mean should he just be at peace of that FAITH he had? boggles the mind.

Well, I think he was mislead. Or was hoping for miracles? With his story, I guess you cannot test your own faith. Let other do that for you. : D Seriously, I believe that he has crossed the path between being religious and being panatic. You should never try to put yourself in danger because that is against the law of God. Life is a gift from God, it is very precious so we have to value them.

Perhaps he wanted to prove to people not only to himself that his faith is strong. I think we shouldn't test faith that way, because it's just off the edge. I guess he misunderstood the meaning of the liturgy or Bible, you don't go testing your faith like that, you don't go present yourself in danger in order to prove you are faithful. Test of faith comes from God. There are circumstances when regardless what we do, we are tested. I guess his church-goers are now tested with their Faith after the incident. Sad, now who's going to lead his lost sheep? Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Faith is the state of being close to what we assume to be something related to our mental business. All religions have taken adequate advantage of the same and we, the poor human beings are so scared of such things as they are always scared of what they really heard of. So, may be testing - as long as anyone related to faith, they wont take a chance to testify the life with whatever they are in. The real fact that that once we die, there ends everything ...

To have faith is to believe what is not seen, as i have read . But this pastor, has he not have better discernment of what he is doing. He knows that it is a venomous snake, why would he try to sit near it? To test his faith ? Now, his faith was indeed tested.

They are basing their actions on Mark 16. They are wrong and as many have already alluded... it is wrong to test God. I just posted a column on my blog about this very thing and then I come here and find it's a hot topic. Who knew!

He calls himself a pastor, yet he wants to test God.This clearly shows that he doubts God and he paid the price for it.There are many persons in the Christian community who call themselves pastors, priests, fathers and yet they themselves have doubts. How can such people lead their flock when they are not sure about God`s will?
