A dog loves and adores you with unrequented love. Does any member of the human race offer such loyality? All animals offer some kind of friendship that makes a bad day seem to fade away. No false allegiance or backstabbing. If an animal dislikes you it will let you know. Is the friendship an animal offers the strongest bond a human can experience?

Not many take this seriously that only animals are capable of giving pure love. They need more respect and caring but it pains me to see how badly animals are treated. They are more a status symbol for some and all what they do is keep the animal alive by feeding it but never think that animals too have emotions. We have had dogs and cats for several years and all of them have received respect, love, care and protection. They in turn have given us more than our share.

I think an animal is the best friend you could get. My dog loves me so much, she always kisses me, excited to see me when I get home, follows me, cuddles me when she senses I am upset, she cannot repeat things I tell her, lol and she is very loyal. So absolutely pets are a great friend to have!

Good afternoon ajk111, I agree that animals are such wonderful companions. They offer all their love and just want to please their owner. They are so excited when you see them that it seems that no one exists in the world. Nor is anyone as important. When I pet my animals I can feel the love just glowing off them. Now a far as the bond it is very strong, but the bond between loyal people is just as important. Its a differnt type of relationship. As are other relationships broken down to an order. The relationship with God/or other spiritual belief system, husband or wife, children, parents, friends, and community. And with many people they place their pets with their children once that bond over time has been established. I love my pets so much and they are a permanent and importand part of our family. And we all feel that way about our pets.

People do misquote that since animals are mute creatures, they dont have feelings and this degrades them to a level much lower than the animals. Animals are a man's best friend and would continue to be. For instance, if you feed a stray dog daily, then that dog will come to your service one day.

Hello ajk111 My experience with true loyalty comes from dogs. I've owned all sorts of animals (except horses) and my experience is that dogs are fiercley loyal to their human companions, whether it be their family pack, or that one human they consider their own. I also agree with others on here who have said that they think the animal perspective is stronger toward the human than the human toward the animal (the dog.) But this is not to say that we humans do not also have an incredible bond. The dog who I am currently blessed with a relationship was my father's dog. She is in her 14th year. She was very loyal to my father, and when my father lay dying, she slept in such a way that she could watch over my father, and come and get me if my father indicated that he needed help. She never left him, and she trust me to make things right. I only wish I could have lived up to her expectations. Do you have a dog, ajk111? If so, what kind?

hello ajk111! i don't believe that animal friendship is the strongest bond a human can experience , but i believe that animal friendship is purer love than human friendship as animals are not underhanded and acquisitive. if an animal loves a human, that is it; they do not love for what they can get from the person or for any condition. it is difficult to say that always about human relationships. my husband and i think that our dog, the princess, is the purest sweetest soul that ever lived. she is loving and loyal. he and his brothers all say, "dog is god spelled backward". i have not had such happy relationships with cats, and certainly not with a horrid hamster that sent our entire household (in childhood) for rabies shots, but i do believe that a dog's love is unsurpassed by other animals.

I think that animals are the best friend. The more love and care we give them, the more love and care they give us. I think all animals look for care and love from humans.

I think that it is more of an individual thing. There are some people that will say that the strongest bond is between human and animal. There are others that will say it is between parent and child. Still others will say that spouses are the strongest bonds, while some will assert that the strongest bond is true friendship. I do not think that any of them are wrong or right, because for them whatever bond they chose probably is the strongest one as each of us is different.

YES....DEFINITELY. I got to this conclusion long time ago. and people disappoint you. it's hard when people you least expected do that. it happended to me a few months ago. the person I considered my best friend let me down. and it's not like you expect something in exchange for what you do for someone but it's hard to realise that when you need a person more that person isn't there for you

Animals are not best friends, I don't believe they see it that way. A dog has to live in a group it's normal behaviour and he sees his owner and family as a part of it. This has nothing to do with being best friends or unrequented love. If you say that you haven't seen enough dogs. The only "great" thing about animals is that a human being can kick it aside and will force it to stay near you, no matter if the animal likes it or not. A human being has the right (or will try) to walk out of you. this is also a reason why so many animals have bad behaviour, are sick, get cancer because they have to stay near a "sick" human being with complete different ideas about how to treat an animal well. An animal deserves a life of an animal, it's not a human being. It should not be there, be forced to be your best friend. An animal with character most people don't like, we breed with animals who would never survive in nature and if the animal wants to "escape" from us, is tired of us, not "loyal" enough we dump it or put it asleep.

dear I think that animals can be your best friend. They listen very well and even if they cant talk back they still listen. They will always be with you , they cant break up with you. They can releive stress also by spending time with your animals.I dont think anyone from the human race will bring you such loyality.Dogs and other animals do alot for us and we do alot for them.

I believe than friendship between humans and animals are very strong and unconditional. Unless you are abusing your pet, or any animal, they will always be loyal. Pets honestly remember who feeds them and helps them survive in their own way, they often take on a mind that makes them feel like they are human. Especially if you spoil your pets. While your dog may avoid you for a bit after getting shots, haha at least mine does, they always forgive you. They don't hold grudges unless totally abused. That usually ends up with a mental scar afterwards. Animals can sense when you're upset and will always try to cheer you up in their own way. As of late my chihuahua has assumed she deserves to eat all the meals we do, because we have always treated her as one of our own.

Animals are really our best of friends that love us unconditionally. They depend on us us for their care and love us in return. They can be a great companion for the lonely. For many of us, the animals in our lives are faithful pals who make us laugh, keep us company and love us no matter what.:*

I have never experienced any such unconditional love as I currently do from my dog. He is always there for me and makes me feel better when I am down. I have had him now for nine years and it he amazes me daily at how intelligent he is. If we could all just stop and think what type of world this would be if we could all love one another in friendship like our dogs do, maybe we could train ourselves to generate that attitude and turn things around.

Your dog is the most loyal friend you can have! Here is a test you can try at home. Lock your wife and dog in the trunk of your car and leave them there for about 10 minutes, then open the trunk! Your wife will try to kill you with the tire-iron. Your dog will jump all over you while licking your hands and face to show his love and gratitude!

yeap dogs really are a man's best friend they never demand anything more than food and shelter and they repay with love and security. But even so, a dog/human relationship can't overcome a human/human relationship even if the demands there are more. :)
