Do you think gray hair is a thing of the past, or do you color your hair..

When I was growing up my grandmother use to always say that 'a woman's hair is her crowning glory" she would alway say make sure you keep your hair presentable...regardless of the color. Do you have your original color of do you color your hair.. If you do why do you do so.... I wonder what she would have said to me when I went completely bald from the chemotherapy. That wasn't a good site for a while. Whats your take....weather you are a male or female.....

My hair is thick and wavy. Right now it is long, and I have been coloring it for the last eleven months because hubby thought that people thought I was older than him. He forgets, age is an attitude, and if I have a bad attitude no hair color in the world will help. Actually I use henna and my hair is quite red in all the places it used to be gray. I also think, however, that at some point I will let it grow as long as I can, and quit coloring it.

When it was just a little gray, it was okay. Actually the best thing I like is that the henna makes my hair feel thicker and it looks shinier. No split ends. For people with dark or black hair there are two herbs that you can combine, henna and indigo. I just recently got some indigo to put with my henna because the red parts were red like brand new pennies. That is a little too much. The rest of my hair looks a lot like it did when I was a girl. The parts that were gray were big old skunk stripes. If I pulled my hair back you saw what looked like big old stripes of white on black.

I have my original hair colour, and well I dont think I need to worry about grey hair for awhile being only 23. Some people look really good with grey ahir and some dont. But I think some look really abd dying their hair as well. I remember in college all the girls dyed their hair, and it just look so bad. I have dyed my hair in the past, but havent in years. I was thinking this summer of doing highlights. My hair is really thin, and straight because of the Colitis and what goes with it.

thanks ricki for responding, I really wouldn't expect you to be coloring grey at the age of 23, even tho some 23 year old do. So I guess this question wasn't so much directed to you, but adults with grey hair...But with the Colitis you need to be careful of so many different things.. Have a great weekend!!!!

I know a couple of people from high school who are going bald, or have a full head of grey hair. I think in todays society and environment grey hair, and other issues are arising at a younger age. Yes, with colitis there is so much to worry about, and keep everything on track.

I'm already 40 I do colored my hair when I'm still in my 30's and now still I didn't see any gray hair. I think it is also from genetics, I saw many men or women who are in the young age but has many gray hairs.

I do not color my hair. At 51, I have some gray, but it blends in with my light brown hair. I do think I will just let it go gray. I have also lost all my hair due to chemotherapy and it came back curly, but eventually went back to its normal texture (mostly straight). I kind of enjoyed the curls. It was so easy to style (or not). I would just wash and towel dry. At this point I'm just happy to have hair.

I have asian hair and I love to color my hair brown not because I feel prettier when I do this but because I always want to try something new.

I developed a perfectly circular patch of gray hair in front when I was very young; I think it was when I was in my late teens. I started developing more gray at around forty. I had always had very thick hair; not only in coverage but in the actual hair strands being course and thick. Then when I was approaching fifty a medical condition, that I didn't know I had, became more serious and I had to start taking medication for it. This medication causes my hair to thin both in coverage and in the thickness of the hairs. So I color my hair to cover the gray because it makes it look less thin and also it gives my hair more body. I still have lots of hair but it is not like when I was in my twenties and the barbers would want to thin it out; something I always said no to.

It seems that everybody (at least females) colours their hair these days. It doesn't matter how old they are. I find a lot of teenage girls and even younger, colour their hair. I've always thought that nature's look suits a person best. In other words your hair colour probably matches your skin tone, eyes etc. I'm 52 years old and still don't have gray hair. I don't dye my whole head of hair but I DO add highlights to it. I was 48 years old before I added highlights and have been doing it ever since. I think gray hair tends to make one look older but still, I think things should match. If you have nice skin with few wrinkles but your hair is gray it would look nice if it is coloured. However if you are older and have lots of wrinkles the look and body of an older person and you dye your hair it looks ridiculously like you are old and trying to look young.

Bad headache, migraine, not eating proper fruits and vegetables, digestion problem can badly affect our hair along with causing our early baldiness. Thanks

Bjc66bjc No I do not color my hair. I'm blessed to be living to see my hair turn Gray. I look at it as a blessing from God . There are a lot of people that's Gray and they don't even know it so we should all count it a blessing when we begin to turn grey. Now i'm not knocking the ones that color their hair to each it own.
