To enrol or not

Philippines

I only have two more subjects in my Ph.D. course, however I could no longer find the eagerness to continue my studies. I am so much frustrated with the new management of our graduate school. This school year the new management wanted to do it trimester, thus, we have been told that whatever new changes, we will be carried over. We only need the two subjects to finish our academic requirements, two semesters to finish our dissertation then that's it. Though we could not find any encouragement and we could not feel it on our senses that we need to enrol. I am really hesitant to enrol. The start of our classes will be a week more but I am still undecided if I am going to enrol or not. Please help me. I need encouragement. Thanks much.

oh ginspearl! i sense that you are feeling downhearted and unsure about enrolling. all i can tell you is if it were me, i would do it. it would be different if you had a lot of classes to take, but you only have two more! you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, the gold at the end of the rainbow, etc, etc, etc....keep your eyes on the prize! YOU CAN DO IT!

Yes my dear psychoartist, that is actually what I am feeling right now. And to think that I only have four days to decide. How I wish I could come up with the very right decision soon. Thanks much for the encouragement.

I think you should enrol, since you only have 2 subjects.. that is so close.. Getting that Ph d would be a big step and you will be qualified in better jobs too.. I hope you can enrol.

This best encouragement is reality and basically I just want you to think about how much time, money, and effort you will have wasted if you decide not to finish out the last couple of subjects you need to get your Ph.D. Just because some things have changed doesn't mean that you can't finish out your degree and then once you are finished you don't have to deal with the new management or anything like that anymore. After you're done at that school you can move on to another school or you can reach whatever it was that you were working for with your degree. Just don't let you're hard work go to waste, finish it out and move on to your next chapter in life

Finish what you have started against all odds. Although I also feel the lack of enthusiasm on your part, but only you can make yourself like the course again.

Thanks much cutie! I appreciate your encouragement. I believe it is only on my part to accept it and must keep on going on. I do hope I could feel the enthusiasm that I really need the soonest possible time. I do really pray for it.

It is always best to see a thing through. Do not quit trying , even if it is to be one of the few who did not quit. Better things in store.

Even if you hate it just keep going! Only two more subjects to go! If you have made it this far by now dont give up on everything you have worked so hard for. If you dont enroll again you will most likley regret it later. Best of luck.

You are right clarissa! I know it is just a short way to go, what is only lacking on my part is the enthusiasm. I am looking forward for a positive decision not later than tomorrow. Thanks much. All your encouragement are really very much appreciated!

I would finish your studies because it may help you find a better paying job. I have one Master's Degree and am now working towards my second Master's Degree. With the economy being bad I feel that the better educated one becomes the better job one can get. I would enroll in school and finish your course of study.

I think you are really into a dilemna today. For me, if your reason for not enrolling just because of the new management, it can be a very shallow reason. I think you can still enrol now for you to be able to finished it. Don't waste your time. You are just few steps away to your graduate school After that you can have a rest. But again, it will depends on you. Sometimes loosing eagerness in studying might cause you not to perform well. Hope you can have your decision that will giev you a better option. good day!

Hello ginspearl I encourage you to complete your Ph.D. You're so close, and I do believe that it will be beneficial for you to complete. After I finished all of my course work, and was well into my dissertation, I dropped out of my Ph.D. program. While I have never regretted that decision, I do also realize that some things may work better for me had I finished.

Don't think twice, if you want to have your fellowship or certificate in hand which you will be very proud of yourself at a later stage, then go ahead and complete your Ph.D. My sister is also the same course, She is doing Ph.D. in zoology. So, enroll yourself as soon as you can and complete the course.
