"Hi RaiRaiRae, I was born in in Ilocos Norte and spend most of childhood in Ilocos Sur. You can reach Ilocos via a bus and via airplane. I suggest that you need to have it in an airplane because a bus trip can eat most of your time - a 10 to 12 hours ride if you are in Manila. Airplane, is something like a 30 minute ride. I would suggest the Bus - Farinas bus line or Maria de Leon, Partas can be also a good one.
Accomodation? there are a lot of nice and economical hotels and inn, it is strategically located near the city hall wherever city you are going - Laoag City or Vigan. Food is a must-try - try lonnganisa, bagnet, tupig and so much more. You should go to Pagudpud Beach if you have the chance, they call it the "Boracay of the North" - it has white sand and virtually the same atmosphere. Try to visit some of the old but historical places like churches. Paoay church is also a must-see. Also, I guarantee you that people from my place are that accomodating, just ask for help and they will treat you as their visitor. Have fun!"

Hello RaiRaiRae! We've been to Ilocos Norte and Sur last summer and it's a very nice experience.
Don't dare miss the windmills in Bagui (hope I spelled it right) and the Pagudpud beach. :) The beach is way much cleaner than of Boracay.
When I watched a documentary in (I think) ABS-CBN, they featured nice spots from the place and one spot that I regret not visiting is an area from where you can see white rocks. I don't know the name, but I'm pretty sure that's it's situated in Ilocos.
There's so much that I have to say, but for further "infos," I guess you need to do some research.. Good luck and have a safe trip. ;)
