Hello fellow MyLotters.
I'm undergoing an operation on Monday. I have a thyroid enlargement or goiter and I've been advised to remove it. I'm not having any problems at all with it but the doctor told me that it could change in a few year time and become dangerous, or maybe not, so we better go ahead an take it out.
My operation is scheduled for Monday afternoon so I won't be active maybe for two days here at MyLot, nor anywhere else ;) I'll stay at the clinic for one night and then, if everything is fine I'll be back home on Tuesday afternoon again :)
Fingers crossed friends ;)

I'm sure you will be feeling better and getting it out will mean positive results. I have to get an operation done on July 17. I wish it could be done sooner but it doesn't seem like the DR is open this month for anything, all booked she said.

Hi dear,
Hope you are doing will and pray to let the operation goes well.
My mother also had this goiter for her life time and she was scared of an operation and never did it. Also, my sister had goiter and she operated about 12 year back and now it got developed again but not much in growth. She is taking medicines periodically and some doctors insists for one more operation and she is preparing for the same.
All the best and best of luck.
Take proper rest after the operation and see you soon.
Regards
Thank-s

I wish you well during your operation. Is it very visible or it is just small but growing? Are you diagnosed with hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism? The reason why I ask this is because I know in some cases if you are diagnosed with a goiter caused by low thyroid hormones (hypothyroidism) you are given some medication that you take every morning and in some cases, the goiter can shrink on its own. On the other hand, hyperthyroidism is more harder to treat since your body keep on producing more thyroid hormones which can have a negative effect on your heart and in that case, a surgery would be much appropriate.

Dear
I hope and pray that everything is fine. There is a saying " safe than sorry" i think that's the saying doctors use most in ther work. Its a good thing they do.Anyway hope everything is alright and I hope you are not in pain at all.

Oh wow good luck! Yes that kind of thing can get pretty serious. I would also advice you to take it out to.
Good luck and be well.

hi,
Best of luck and no need to worry about the operation. Just follow the doctor's advise and never think you will b dangerous. You will be the same person even after your operation dear and i bet you won't turn to be a 'monster' so be cool and come back soon. Hope to see you here the day you are back. Take care.
ps: 'dangerous' the doctor meant could be you may gain some weight or lose and that could be the effect of medicines...

Remember, be calm in the clinic. It helps your body.
